It could be that the battery is faulty. If this problem persists try contacting Nintendo and reporting it, it may be a bug as many people are suffering this problem.

It sounds like the battery is dead. You can order a replacement battery direct from Nintendo at http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=108205

DS won't turn on

Hi Atticus,

I have seen this happen when someone plugs the wrong charging cord up to the DS lite, Is there any chance some one did this to your DS lite.It sounds also as if the battery is not making proper connection.

  1. REmove the battery from the compartment
  2. inspect the connector on the battery and where the battery connects to the DSlite.
  3. Wipe thee connections off some way. I suggest some contact cleaner for bith the battery and Battery compartment connections
  4. Try the DS lite again with the battery installed.

I hope this gets you in business  Atticus. Do not Vote until we get it working.  Try this and add a comment to this problem posting. I will answer as soon as I possibly can. Thank you very much for the opportunity to solve your porblem with a DS Lite.

When charging DS lite the light stays orange

The issue is not with the fuses or with the battery. That end is working properly if the light stays a constant orange. The issue is with the other end, how the system powers on. Check the power slider (on mother board) or the L2 inductor (located below the slider). Chances are the tab on the slider has broken off or the L2 slider broke off from the motherboard.

Ninetendo ds not charging why is this

More than likely the battery is dead or the power/charging cord is dead.

I have a DS Lite that will not charge I have just replaced the battery and when I charge it the light goes off to say charged then when turned on the light goes red instead of green it is as if the charger...

The red light is an indicator that the battery is near dead...not that it is charging.
It sounds like your battery has become faulty. The replacement process isn't bad...just a screw or two on the underside of the unit. And the battery isn't too costly. You should be able to buy another one online for as little as $8 + shipping and handling.

Nintendo DS does not turn on

Find a friend that has a DS and try using their battery and charger to troubleshoot your hardware. If your battery and charger work with another DS, then you may have a problem with your DS motherboard.

My assumption at this point is the battery.

No information on the Ninetendo ds light

Yes it will need charging, keep the charger plugged for up to 3 hours, the light will turn green when it is fully charged.

Have you tried to turn the console on while the charger is attached?
If yes, then take the battery out, plug the charger in again and try turning it on.

Power problems with DS Lite

Really sounds like a dead battery. The DS will not work if the battery is bad even when it's plugged in. You get the quick flash of the power light and that's it.
