SOURCE: burning smell

thermal switch is not working...upon reaching a certain temperature limit it should switch off then switch on again after a moment to maintain the set temperature..what happened here is that your thermal switch didn't switch off so the temperature continue to rise to the extent that the heating element burnt and smell like that..adjust the setting in such a way that it switches off after reaching the desired temperature..

Is my steam iron broke?

Get a new one. If it drew enough power to trip off your electricity then there is a problem that is not worth taking a chance on.

Shark Iron just quite working i have had it about 8 months and it has been good

given the potential danger, and relative low expense, would you just consider trashing this and buying a new one? I don't intend to sound short or sarcastic....it's just with the burning smell I would prefer you either return it for refund, call the manufacturer or trash it for a different iron.
Looking at epinions.com there is a comperable iron for around $40-$50 with 24 reviews and 3.5 stars out of 5.

Simac Stirelli 9000 steam iron spews rusty steam and smells like burnt apples

Your steam iron has been filled with 'tap' water that may have been contaminated (thus the smell). Rust develops more rapidely in Steam Iron chambers when distilled water is not used: to clean the 'enclosure' of the steam iron from rust and smell, over a sink or outdoor, fill 'cold iron' with a 50/50 water/vinegar and a teaspoon of bicarb, let it stand for about 10 mins, then turn the iron on and let it steam the mixture out while shaking the iron gently (DO NOT BURN YOURSELF! STEAM IS HOTER THAN BOILED WATER!). Refill and Steam flush again with Clean water (distilled preferred). Repeat the steps until the rust has been completely dissolved (check by steam ironing on clean pieces of disposible kitchen paper towel. Use the Power steam or Flush function of the Iron if available. Hope it helps!

How I can fix The Black&Decker digital advantage that does not heat

The iron will probably have to be taken apart.
If you are handy, you can do this when unplugged.
Check for broken connections and anything that is obvious like burned smell etc.
