E140C... The 1 in E140C is actually an i... Now knowing that, do a search with the model number ei40c instead of e140c and you will find a few pdf files with the instructions for this timer all over the internet. ( ) and ( )

Do you mean Intermatic E104C box-type timer? Intermatic does not make E140C

Manual says "refer to programming instructions on time switch door"

Manual says timer has 8 events per 24-hour day ... 4 'on' events and 4 'off' events. Normal operations, selectors are set to AUTO and RUN.

Using sketchy info from manual about programming:
Set sliders to MANUAL & TIME/SET
Press EVENT for event 1 ... set hour and minute using HOUR & MIN buttons ... this will be 'on' time
Press EVENT for event 2 ... set hour and minute ... this will be 'off' time
Set all 8 events ... 4 'on' and 4 'off'
Move sliders to AUTO & RUN for timer operation

Fixya helps the do-it-yourselfer. Some of us assist folks for free, but you must participate because we don't do the work for you. Now, describe your timer in detail. Buttons, shape, type (plug-in, or in-wall). Otherwise you have manual for unknown product, so I cannot post information that will help you help yourself. And then add what part of the manual is confusing. The reason for this is that manuals usually have illustrations and more words than we can post in a free answer. You can also pay for an answer at fixya and fixya expert will ask you to describe the timer and where you are stuck in the manual.

I think you have the EI400C Digital Auto-off timer: timers/digital auto-off timers.aspx If this is correct timer, then I have a copy of the manual and can answer your question. I also have a wiring diagram. So add a comment about where you need help and we can get your timer going.

The timer I have is the Intermatic E140C Electronic Automatic Shut-Off Timer. I have scanned the instruction booklet into my PC in .pdf format and will gladly e-mail it to anyone that needs it.

Post your manual on using instructions on following link:
After you follow instructions above, then add a comment and say what part of the manual is confusing for you, and be specific, or I am done helping. I am not going to parrot back a manual, when you have not answered one question that I asked. I asked you to describe the buttons and you refused to answer. I asked you to describe the timer and you refused to answer. I asked if timer looked like one posted at Intermatic and you refused to answer. I asked once for you to say where the manual is confusing and you refuse to say. If you don't give me the information I need, then you can also re-post your question on Fixya. Or pay for an answer on Fixya.
