The water has damaged the bearings, it's only a matter of time before the bearings get louder or seize all together. You can have the bearings replaced or get a new motor installed. A bearing replacement is 2/3 the cost of a new motor and the rest of the components are still old and perhaps damaged from the flood. Your call, I'd go for a new motor.

I have a quickfuel 650 on a stroked 383. motor ran, it will not start now. looking at the carb I notice alot of fuel leaking into one of the the secondary barrels even after turning the key off.

Hey Dave, Sounds like one of the floats stuck open... do you have a mechanical or electrical fuel pump..(electrical pump must shut off)..anyway the pressure in the lines will cause the leaking if the floats are stuck, .. even after its turned off...its probably flooded too.

Dishwasher constantly trying to drain, won't wash/work

Hi,

If your dishwasher seems noisy, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Motor
Heater fan
Pump
Water-inlet valve An aging water-inlet valve can sometimes fail slowly, rather than all at once. It can shudder on and off rapidly, causing the incoming water lines to shake, rumble, and rattle--sometimes violently. If yours is doing this, replace the inlet valve.

Motor If it's the motor that's noisy, either of these may be the "culprit:"

  • As motor bearings wear out, they can become quite loud when the motor runs. They wear out quickly if they frequently get wet, because the water washes away the motor bearing grease. Bearings can get wet if the spin seal is defective. Then there will also be water leaking onto the floor beneath the dishwasher. Replace the seal if it leaks (read about the main tub seal in the "It leaks" section, later).

  • If, from beneath the dishwasher, you can see a round, plastic disc that's mounted to the top of the motor (a "slinger"), it may have broken free of the motor shaft. If so, it could be rattling around the shaft while the motor is running. If that's the problem, you need to replace the motor.

Heater fan If the heater fan bearings are rusted or worn, they may squeal, or scrape loudly during the drying cycle. If this is the problem, replace the fan motor. Alternatively, the fan blade may be loose. If so, you need to replace it.

Pump Small fruit pits, toothpicks, and fragments of glass sometimes get stuck in the pump. When this happens, open the pump and remove the debris. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher.

To get to the pump, you usually need to remove the lower rack, the spray arms, and the spray arm support from the inside of your dishwasher. A dishwasher pump isn't obvious. Look for an impeller--a round, plastic fan blade-type device that spins around and pushes the water toward the drain. When you can see the drain impeller, you should be able to see the clogging debris.

How to resolve a noisy bearing

the bearings only become noisy if water has leaked past the main seal and into them in which case if its a top loader you will need to replace both bearings the main seal and shaft, it can be quite costly. if its a front loader you will need the main seal and both bearings and will cost twice as much as the top loader as it takes quite alot longer to do

Kenmore ice machine circulation pump is making luoder than normal noise but is still pumping is it going bad

Hello,

It could be the motor or it could be noisy because their is not enough water in reservior for it to circulate
by pouring water into resevior if it quites down its a lack of water if still as noisy it will be the pump

if it is a lack of water the water inlet valve is what i would suspect as the problem
and obviously the pump motor if still noisy when reservior full

I've had a problem like this. Can you safely power the pump from a non gfi outlet for a while? Once it runs and whatever is causing this condition dries out, you can plug it back into the gfi.

Recent rains have flooded my pump house pump has now failed to work even after completely drying out

If your motor has come on while the pump house was flooded your motor is probally burnt out and will need to be replaced. when you do this you may want to replumb your pump to raise it above the high water line so this does not happen again. When you do this install a check valve on your suction so you don't have primeing problems later. Good luck

Sounds like your under car plastic panels are missing I would go to your local junk yard and get those covers and put them back under there. I had a hyundai that I took the covers off and when I drove in the rain it would get up in the distributor cap and kill the engine. Also dont drive through flooded areas
