Question about Vacuums
Most likely the brush is frozen in place. Remove the brush and clean well, making sure the end pieces that hold it in place turn freely. Spray a little WD40 where the axle meets the end pieces and turn by hand to be sure they spin without problem. Reassemble making sure the belt is on properly so that the brush turns in the correct direction. If by chance the belt is broken, now is the time to replace it.
