Question about Samsung TV Remote Control
I had the same problem with my remote if the red light (TV) flashes it means the remote is transmitting a signal , I removed the back of the remote ( you can ususlly do this by using your nail along the edge it is onnly clipped in) and on the PCB was a white substance I can only summise must have leaked from the batteries I cleaned it ( with Brut aftershave it's 40% alchahol ) and it works fine now hope this helps .. To operate the tv you only need 6 buttons:
1 - the power -on/off one : top left circle with vertical line in it.
2 and 3 - the volume buttons , in the middle in the form of + and -.
4 and 5 - the channels buttons, next to the volume ones , in the form of up and down arrows.
6 - the mute button, clearly labeled, next to the + button.
There are also the numbers buttons for direct access to the channels but you don't really need them.If you want one that has just 6 buttons then get

Step 1: Remove the batteries
Step 2: Press the power button (red button) on the remote control 5 times.
Step 3: Replace the batteries and your remote should work fine.
