Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

As there are several styles of "kenmore" dishwasher ( that is a sears name and often made by whirlpool, but can also be frigidaire, bosch etc. )

If you can provide a model number I can guide you on "how to" but generally there are no special tools required.

I`ll watch for your reply.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

    Hello again,

Thank you for providing the model, this means I speak directly regarding your machine. The motor and pump comes as a complete assembly, part # 675793A for approximately $225USD and will include this...

Keep in mind this is based on the model number provided 66515765691.

To replace the assembly will require you to remove the lower panel/toe plate, the drain hose and check valve, plus undo the wires from the assembly.

Us a small pan to catch the remaining water in the pump so your not working in a puddle.

You can see the check valve in this image below with the drain hose disconnected, it is white in color and unscrews from the pump counter-clockwise.

Undo the four hold-down snubbers by turning them 45°, they are usually white in color or black and made of rubber. There will be one directly to the left of the check valve, but four around the perimeter all together so you know what to look for.

The pump may be "stuck" to the tub, but by pushing through the bottom should break it free.

Let me know if any of this is not clear or if I can assist you further some how.

    Keep me posted.

    Good luck.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

Won't spin and loud noise

Kenmore washers could hold a few problems. First, without a model number you don't know who makes it. See, Kenmore does not make washers, they have someone else make them such as Whirlpool or Frigidaire. More that likely you have a Whirlpool (which is a good thing). What you are probably hearing is the coupler of the machine broken. A coupler is what replaced a belt in the newer machines. This piece is installed in between the motor and transmission. If it breaks it makes a loud rattle/grind sound. It is possible that the transmission is also the culprit. However, this noise is entirely different. A bad transmission generally makes a loud screech noise. If this does not help, please post a model number of the washer and I will gladly further assist you :)

Kenmore Ultra Wash water supply started making loud noise while water is entering washer. If you turn on sink faucet at the same time the noise will stop.

It sounds like the solenoid valves which let in the water are not fully opening and causing chatter -- probably corroded . Turning the washer-water supply faucets down (to the left) will probably stop it, but the solenoid valves need to be checked.

The reason opening the sink faucet stops the noise is that it reduces the water pressure to the washer -- this is the same effect as turning the washer faucets down.

Loud clanking noise in dishwasher

Most likely the motor as food caught in the sump would not make a noise you described.

it could be the break above the transmission. it engages what looks like break shoes when the machine is not spinning. if these are worn down to the rivets then it will make this noise. it requires a special tool to replace.0de7df9.jpg

Maytag dishwasher mdb56000aww

It seems that your motor on the dishwasher is going out, like mine has just done. My explanation is that it sounds like something is grinding on glass or as if a bunch of mice are making noise. Eventually, the motor will not run any more. What will happen is that the dishwasher will fill up, then make a loud humming noise, while the heating element is making the water near the heating element sizzle. Now what you have is a possible fire hazard which compounds the problem with the dishwasher. Get rid of it, take the loss and live like my grandmother used to, without having a dishwasher. That is the best advice I can give you.

Dishwasher Making Loud High Pitched Noise.

How deep do you want to get into this?It sounds like the wash pump motor bearings that are worn. You can pull the unit out flip it over and wd40 the bearings in the motor or you can replace the bearings.Try to lube them first.
