Mapping for truck route does not show bridge heights or weight limits

see if there is a heavy vehicle map system that will install into the gps
most normal gps units are for light vehicle operations and will not have that information installed

When in truck mode my 465t will not warn of all weight station or low bridge locations. The truck height is set for 13'6", but there is no warning when lower bridge heights are encountered.

Have you tried gong to the Garmin web site an updating the software and the maps? If you have it updated it most likely does not know all the bridges and there heights and the weight station locations. Thanks for using fixya

I wa in Vancouver, and there is a new bridge that opened in june of this year. Why would the GPS not able to find it and derrect us to it, instead it was telling us to go take a ferry which is no longer...

Area maps are not drawn up every year. There is easily a several year gap before mappers get back to any given area to map any new changes since the last mapping. If that bridge was just opened, mappers wouldn't have had a chance to add it to maps, allowing it to be added to the map software so you could update your gps device. Basically, the bridge was too new for your gps to know about it's existence yet.

Not too computer literit. Tomtom has taken me to a bridge that has been closed for a year. Tried an address and it took me to an open field(twice). Purchased it in Dec. '08 i would think it would have...

From the navigation screen (first one you normally get after power on) touch the map part of the screen; more options (right arrow); Map corrections; Correct a map error; (Un)block a street; On Map; find the bridge on the map and touch that location; Done; touch Eastbound; touch Westbound (or similar words) so they now indicate as blocked; Yes (confirm change is permanent).

The Satnav should no longer use that bridge in attempting to calculate a route.

Hope that helps.
