I have this same problem, I tried updating with the disc but it did not complete and is stuck on the "upd ng" message. The unit is now completly unresponisive and displays "insert disc" after rejecting and other disc and ejecting them. It will only accept the firmware disc but will not finish the update.

Sorry about the previous post. Was just going to say I have the same problem. The disk I used was sent to me by Panasonic tech support. My player is now useless, too.

Were you upgrading it over the network from the player? If you had network problems you can also download it to your computer nd burn it to a CD. then insert the CD into your player. Here is the link to the download: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Video/Blu-ray-Disc-Players/Drivers-Downloads/model.DMP-BD60K.D#ts

I downloaded the firmware and burned onto a disk and tried to upgrade before I contacted you. I will try the download site you sent me and go from there. This version is the 2.5 and my BD60k has 2.0.

Why does my blue ray disc from titled it's complicated netflix keep starting over and doesn't play on my panasonic dmp-bd60

I had the exact same problem. I did a firmware upgrade (from 1.1 to 2.5) and now it plays "it's complicated". The difficulty I had in upgrading was the firmware burned to a disc could not be read either! I ended up just making a long cat-5 cable and plugged into router...and problem solved.

Need codes for all regions on Panasonic DMP-BD60

Hi, I don't think there are any codes, it has to be modified by inserting a chip, and unless you know about electronics or soldering, I would either find a friend or take it to a competent repair shop, because if it is done wrong , you will have a bricked dvd player.
Here is a link that shows you what to do.
http://www.avforums.com/forums/blu-ray-players/1007948-how-make-your-panasonic-bd60-bd80-blu-ray-player-multiregion.html

Please read it carefully.

I think this is the only way.

I hope this helps you, let me know.

Try updating the units Firmware:
Firmware is software that exists usually on chip or flash memory within a larger piece of hardware, such as a Blu-ray player. Firmware can be upgraded to fix a technical problem with the player or to meet new industry standards.Firmware updates can be applied either by downloading them directly to your device, or by disc installation.

How do i get my Panasonic DMP-BD60 to work...it only turns on for a second and read hello then goes off???

Regarding the Panasonic DMP-BD60, I had the exact same problem, but I also had a disc stuck inside at the time. I called Panasonic tech support and this is what solved the problem for me.
Near the bottom of the remote control is a series of colored buttons marked R, G, B, & Y. Locate the OK button, and press it together with the B & Y buttons, hold for 10 seconds.
All of a sudden, my unit came back to life and everything is working fine. We are happy now.
