I use a hair dryer to thaw it out. Just aim the hair dryer around right side and bottom of the water dispenser for about 5 to 15 minutes.

Will not dispence water

My water dispensor INSIDE the door froze up.
I payed a repair guy $75 to use MY BLOWDRYER to "thaw" the frozen water line INSIDE the freezer door (below the water dispenser).

He said anytime the frozen food extends over the freezer shelf and touches the freezer door for a long enough period of time, the water line inside the door FREEZES!!

PREVENTION: "Keep some airspace between the door and frozen food."

Water wont dispense light dims

If your light dims your unit is working you probably have frosen water clogging you tuber just inside the freezer door
Use a hair dryer it may take you 30 min or more. Check under the front kick plate below the freezer door and see if there is a check valve or grabe the line and activate the water. feel if there is force there.

Samsung american fridge freezer ice tray is stuck at angle and wont make new ice

I had the same problem, It's because you have tried to press the button with the door open to get the tray to rotate. If your pressing the overide button with the door open you need to pretend the door is shut by pressing the hinge thing (it's half way down the left hand side of the freezer, turns the light out aswell) or else it the tray tries to do a 360 whitch it can't. You have to force it back to central. I can get mine to work and water is coming out of the water shute but no water is going into my ice tray to make the ice. I put some normal ice in and it dispences ok but it just wont make it's own. Anyone got any ideas ?

if your ice maker is making ice and it is your ice dispencer that is not working along with your water dispencer and when you press the dispencer button the light dims on the door. I would replace the main board. I experienced the same problem and the board fixed it This board is shared by many models and brands of fridges and the transformer goes bad from power surges this board powers the solenoid valves that open for your water

Texas, sounds like your water reservoir is frozen up. Remove your 2 cripser drawers, you will see the reservoir behind them. Take a hair dryer and go over the tank and tubing ends. See if the water starts flowing. I find a lot of frozen water reservoirs on these french door models. They have a insulation kit for them. Catriver.

Most likely it is the High Voltage Control board located in the unit compartment (take off the back cover where the water lines are) i have had lots of them failing and doing all kinds of odd things, so far it has been that computer. Part number 12002608
