yicks! So how come the empty battery pack sells for $236 at Monster?

[SpinLife sells two brands of the battery pairs for $89 and $109].

I'm trying to avoid breaking the $236 battery pack!

    I am sooo confused!

The chair's red with black seat, black trim.

My 12/12 batteries are inside a red case...on the top it has a needle gauge re empty/full charge,

There's an on/off switch on the top left.

The left side has a port for charging the batteries,

The right side has some unknown button! [reset?].

and there are also two reflectors on it.

    Thanks,

    Bette

P.S. oops, just read my post but the case is black and says ShopRider on it. [red _reflectors_].

I'll print out your how-to now.

    Thanks,

    Bette

The Shoprider Jiffy Powerchair is designed to operate on two 12 volt/12Ah sealed lead acid or gel type maintenance free batteries. For easy handling, the batteries are contained within a battery-pack.The battery unit is a removable brown plastic case holding the charger and two of these batteries. To open the case, there are 10 phillips head screws all accessible in recesses on the back side. Two of these access holes are covered by a sticker. Remove the sticker and relocate it on the case (or throw it away). There is nothing inside the case to be a concern to your safety. The batteries rest in the bottom of the case and are connected by clearly marked + (red) and - (black) wires. If the battery will not take a charge from a standard automotive charger, it is dead and needs replacement.

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

This is a tough one. They suggest replacing the whole unit. I guess they think if the battery is dead, then it must not be charging properly.

Powerchair charging socket.

Most externaly charged wheel chairs use a three pin connector thee pins are arrainged ina triangle. This is an XLR flange connector. You can get one from here http://www.capitolsupply.com/catalog/40663-cables-go-panel-mount-cs9745018.html?cid=cse_ggl4 This should look like what your charging port.

On qusttion, hve you ever used solddering iron? You will need at a minimum a 35w iron, eutectics solder, solder past, acid brush and a good wire stripper. Before i get into a long discertation on soldering, I take things i need to be soldered to Batteries Plus, battery shop. My Rascal 600t has an internal charger but i wanted to charge my batteries externally. I designed a charging harness to be used with my external charger. I gave the design to the guys at battery plus and they fabricated the harness for me. I would bet you that if you took your chair to them they would replace the connector for you. Any good battey store should have the soldering gear and folks that can use it to replace that connector with the equipment its not hafrd to do.

Looking for a part for the above jiffy Lite model. On the back of there's a part that is screwed on with 2 bolts to the frame (the horizontal bar just above the battery housing area). This part is silver...

repetto Try taking a plastic tie wrap that is long enough to wrap around the post on the battery case and the clasp this shoukld keep it in contact until you can find a part. You shoukdn't need to replace the battery pack just the clamp. If shoprider wants you to by a battery pack just to replace the clamp why? you might try looking for a guardian red small wheelchair it uses the same clamp to hold the battery pack and they no longer make that chair someone might have a junked one that you can get the clamp from just a thought Hope this helps

I need a new battery and charger and every where I have called either pushes me off to some plaace else that doesn't answer or a place never calls me back. Where can I get these items?

The type of batteries required by your scooter are 12volt 10 Amps, you will need two of them. They can most likely be purchased at any industrial battery store like Interstate Battery or Batteries Plus. For the charger, you will most likely need to contact Shoprider direct OR a licensed distributor of Shoprider products for that to make sure that the charger will fit into your scooter. Shoprider Mobility is 1-800-743-0772. Another company that sells Shoprider products and may be able to assist you is Marc's Mobility at 800-677-6293.
I hope this information is helpful- good luck!

Need new battery for echo 3 scooter

I have never heard of the echo, but there are several sites on the internet that sell scooter batteries. You can also buy your batteries direct from shoprider.com at this link

The batteries are about $70 each, and there are two of them in the pack.
