Why did you need to clean the carb? Routine servicing of the aircleaner would keep the carb clean for life. The pilot screw should be 1.5 turns out approx. with a small adjustment either way. Idle speed is set to a smooth low idle.If this doesn't fix it have you got something in the carb not replaced correctly? The float needle/float assy? How did you clean it? Have you introduced fluff/dirt into the carb and did you blow it clean with an airline?

How to install Whirlpool 8268654 Adjuster

Kind of hard to explain, but all you need is a flat-bladed screwdriver to pry off the cover off the adjuster by pressing in on the 2 side tabs (remember the plastic will bend); remove the 2 side adjuster guides (by hand), use the screwdriver to pop out the little center piece, and then the wheel/adjuster assembly should fall out. If you have the new parts, you can look at them to help you figure out how to release the catches of the old parts.

Southbend 460DD-2TR no pilot after replacing safety valve/thermo couple

Sounds like if you are not getting any kind of flame your pilot assembly will have to be taken out and cleaned. Your pilot orifice is clogged up with build up. Will need a screwdriver, 7/16 wrech and or a 1/2''.

Why is my flame too big, it is making it smoke

Hi, not knowing what kind of heater you have I can only guess. If it is a central system, and the pilot flame is tall, yellow and smoking, it may have something like a cob web in the pilot tube that will need to be cleaned out. If you have a main gas valve in front of you, there is a pilot adjustment on it, it will say, and some have a small silver cap over the screw. You can take a very small flat head driver and adjust the height of the pilot, and this will take care of the problem. I have found insects that have crawled into the tip of the pilot tube and get cooked, causing a high yellow flame many times in my field of repair. Look it over good, and find the adjustment screw and give this a try. Just turn it one way or the other to see which way will raise or lower it, and hopefully this will solve your problem. Please keep me posted on the outcome.

PS, you want a nice small blue flame with a slight yellow tip, so turn it down. If it stays the same in any direction, you will need to remove the pilot tube and clean the end out.

The pilot don't stay on

Is this the pilot for the oven or stovetop burners, or both? Pilot flames can be adjusted to increase or decrease the size. It's probably dirty which is causing it to go out. Use a small flat screwdriver to scrape the pilot tip clean or a small needle to poke it, if necessary. Then use the screwdriver to adjust the pilot flame as needed. If you follow the small aluminum tubing from the pilot, you will find a small screw on the line to adjust it. If you need more help, just let me know. Obviously, there can be other issues, but this is the most common problem. Douglas

How do i light the pilot on my Rheem rgba-100c forced air furnace?

Use a barbecue lighter. Turn the valve to pilot. Light the lighter and put the flame at the pilot. Press and hold the gas valve. Keep holding it for about 20-30 seconds after the pilot lights. When you release it, the flame shoud stay lit. Turn the valve to open. If it doesn't stay lit, replace the thermocouple. It is the brass tube that the flame flows onto. They cost less than $10 at most hardware stores. They are universal fit. I keep a spare around all the time, since they are a cheap investment. All you will need to replace it are a screwdriver and a small adjustable wrench.

I have a 1987 Goodman, (GU150-5 REV S) model gas furnace. The problem I have is keeping the pilot light on. I replace the thermal coupling twice, work for a few days and goes out again. Please tell me what...

If you have a weak pilot flame it could cause this. There is an adjustment screw for the pilot flame under another philips head screw that takes a small flat head screwdriver to adjust. Turning the pilot flame up may help.

Oven pilot light too large. Can I adjust it or simplely blow it out and relight when needed?

No, do not just blow it out and relight as needed. This could be dangerous. Besides who would want to light the pilot every time you use the oven. A correctly adjusted pilot light uses a negligible amount of gas. A correctly adjusted oven pilot light should be steady and blue about 1/4" to 1/2" high. If it is yellow it is getting too little air. If there is a space between the flame and the feed tube it is getting too much air. To correct either problem turn the pilot adjustment screw slightly on the gas line near the pilot light as directed by the manufacture. Once you get it adjusted correctly leave it on.

Disc Brake replacement

You need an impact screwdriver. You should be able to pick up a cheap one from your local parts store. You hit the impact screwdriver with a hammer and it forces the screwdriver bit to turn. But make sure you are using the correct size bit, or youll strip the screws and itll be a pain to get them out.

The pilot adjustment screw is located on the back side of the oven temperature thermostat. Lift the cook top to access it. Use a flat screwdriver to adjust... counter clockwise= bigger flame.
