Sansa e260 Car Connection Problem

My Sansa e260 has a Radio adapter, which runs the song/audiobooks thru the speakers via radio, at the same time it charges the e260. In the middle of an audiobook chapter, it went to the Connection screen you see when plugging it into your computer and transfering data. I unplugged it from the adapter and it went back to the song screen, where it had not stopped playing. Plugged it back in and it went immedately back to the Connection Screen. I did do the turn off thing (hold down button for 15 sec) and it did turn back on, put it on the adapter, it worked for a minute, then went back to Connection Screen. HELP!!

Who is the manufacturer of the adapter - and what is the model number of the adapter? Also, what type of car do you have? The Sansa player itself is neutral - it may respond to specific adapters in this way, or the car's Mp3 reading system (if it has such a capability) may be the culprit. But, the radio adapter is probably the key.

I cannot delete songs from Sansa E260

Ok, Sansa made it a little difficult this time,

"Connect your player, of course. Go to "My Computer" > "Sansa e260". There are hidden files. To unhide go to "Tools" (located on the menu bar) > "Folder Options..." > hit the "View" tab > select "Show hidden files and folders". You will see more folders to appear in a faded color. Click on the "MUSIC" folder. Click on the artist, then album then select the song, right click and down to delete." --Yahoo Answers

Downloaded books from the library won't play

I was having the same problem when I used Overdrive Media Console to transfer my audiobook files to my Sansa. I updated the license and retransferred and even tried changing the USB settings on the mp2 player. What finally worked? Using Windows Media Player to sync the files instead. When I hooked up my Sansa I chose "use WMP to sync files" and then I dragged/dropped the audiobook files to the mediaplayer window. The audiobook now plays without any problems since WMP made sure the files have the latest subscription update code.

Loading audio books onto sansa fuse clip 2gb mp3 player

You need to tag the .mp3 so it has a genre of "Audiobook". Google "mp3 tagger" and you'll find utils to do this for you.

Sansa e260 firmware

Mine was a bit more FUBAR I guess. I have a Sansa e260. I had rockbox on it, went to switch back to the firmware. Uninstalled rockbox and on reboot... the e260 was refreshing the database and then came to a frozen green screen.

My e260 was already in MSC mode. I did the steps above but was still stuck.

The solution that worked was one posted by "Slaughter" on anythingbutipod.

The ultimate fix for all e2xx v1 problems - Format, enter recovery mode, downgrade firmware Link (you'll need to format the drive), reinstall newest firmware via newest Sansa Updater, reload tunes.

My mp3 says "bad track" alot and freezes for about a day! help

The songs are in the wrong format. this player will not play iTunes, for instance.

Sansa Fuze supports MP3, WMA, secure WMA, Audible (AA), audiobooks and podcasts in
WMA and MP3 file formats.

Can't remove songs from mp3.

if you want to remove ALL songs from you sansa go to my computer right click the icon that refers to your sansa model and click format. this will delete all pictures, videos, voice recordings, preset radio stations, and music. this is the only way i have find to delete music permanently. before doing this make sure you have your files backed up. also you must be in MSC mode to do this.
