Have u tired disconnecting the power for a few minutes to reset the programming? try that, if that doesn't work you have a more serious issue that will require a repair shop to look at the problem, due to the high cost of repair and the low cost of replacements, well you be the judge, repair or replace.

It has an eprom inside that is storing the memory. If you take the cover off and there is a small battery on the circuit card. Remove the battery. Make sure that you have it unplugged when you do this. Leave the battery out for 3-4 minutes. Put hte battery back in and turn it on again. If this doesn't fix it the eprom is no longer functioning.

There should be 6 screws. 2 on either side, and 2 in the back.

It's a software hangup, but I did read that some CDs were incompatible with this device, so you might try a different brand, or old CD that you knew worked.
I found a website that talked about repair boiling down to them selling you modules, and I didn't see any solutions to this problem. Things like this can be a switch, sensor, solder joint- and you really have to have a service manual for one of these devices to do component repair.
Go to the HDR-A module on the following page, it explains some stuff:
http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/bs3200service.htm
Couldn't find this exact problem reported, but hope this helps. Good luck, and thanks for using FixYa.

Have you attempted to unplug the machine from the power source, let it sit a good 2 minutes, then replugging it in? It sounds like a one time malfunction, but if after doing the reset as I describe it keeps acting this way, you will unfortunately need to get it repaired Something is definitely going wrong inside the machine, but hopefully it is just a one time thing.

So sorry about that, let me know if it works!

Hello,

Its usually not a fault that you will see unless somethings burnt up. This is solid state electronics and you dont see this stuff go bad. But in the meantime try disconnecting the speakers and see if it still goes into shutdown and at the same time have a dc multimeter attached to the speaker outputs. If the unit comes on and you don't see any DC at all or very very little B+ on both speaker terminal sets then you may have a defective speaker. If you do see dc then that's why the protections coming on so you don't blow out your speakers.
Also check for dry soldering, open circuits. you can do this if you have a basic knowledge of electronics to help in solving the problem. Take care

There may be problem on the circuit board. I strongly suggest that you have it checked by a technician for this will require an on hand trouble shooting.

Need gaskets for CSX20E Hotpoint side by side

Seals don't lose their magnetism. Check the door closes all the way round and adjust the hinges if it doesn't sit straight. Check there isn't a relief valve frozen up or blocked (it allows air to escape when the doors are closed). Check the drawers are fully pushed back in and not stopping the door closing properly

Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 2000 door doesn't open (disconnected)

Push the door to the left this normally engages the door to the mech.it is designed to detach if the door is jammed or too stiff to move.Cleaning of the guide rail and door carrier is usually the cure.this can only be done properly be removing the central cd clamper and control panel assy.

Off the power, and plug off the switch, and try opening it manually. DO NOT force open it. I don't think it would close back since it has no electricity already.

Sounds like the belt drive that controls the doors is broken. If you're a repair headed person, you can get the repair manual online for $25 or so. Parts may be harder to get, but with the proper imformation, you may be able to do the work yourself.  It's both tricky and super easy because the design is generally very very good, but knowing the technical details requires a decent amount of patient brain work and proper tools.  DaveA
