The pointer on my screen changes eveytime I start typing on any web page, microsoft document etc.. I have changed the mouse and pointer selections numerous times and think that I may have a conflict with my USB Logitech Mouse and Keybord. I am using a Dell Latitide E6500. Have you heard of this before and what can be causing it?

SOURCE: flashing light

It depends on the mouse. Sometimes the red light flashes to signify the processing of a command. If it is continually flashing, then you may want to replace the battery.

How do I change font when copying something from a web page?

Hi Glenda. The best way to resolve this problem is to copy the text (presumably you did this) then Paste it into a word processor, like say Microsoft Word, or if you do not have a full Office Suite, download and install the free Libre Office (excellent!) via this link: http://download.cnet.com/LibreOffice/3000-18483_4-75337651.html then use its word processor (note that during the installation you are asked if you want Libre Office to work exactly as though Microsoft Office so opt for that - it's still all free) then you can Paste what you copied into a new page and once that is done, you can re-select the text in the document and change it to any font, any size, any colour etc as you wish. If you don't know how to copy text from a web page, put your mouse pointer at the start of the text you want to copy, it will change to a cursor (like a letter I) then hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse down until all the text you want to copy is highlighted (could be white lettering on red or blue - depends on your computer setup). Then whilst it is highlighted, hold down the CTRL key and whilst that is down, press the C key (= CTRL+C). The text is now copied to your Windows Clipboard- it only stays there until next copy is made or computer turned off. To Paste into the word processor document left click inside the document and then use CTRL+V to Paste in the text. By repeating the selection process you can then change the font as mentioned using the facilities in the programme. That way you can change the font, colour, layout and so forth and of course, Save to keep for future reference.

My Microsoft arc mouse keeps freezing for no reason! Any idea on how to stop this?

make sure the lead from the mouse has a secure seating and the lead is not bad/faulty

make sure that the right type of mouse is selected it will be in the hardware tab or
control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot or select properties under driver you can update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot

hope this helps

click start control panel, mouse you can speed up the mouse
also under pointer options you can speed up the mouse you must click apply after you have made any adjustments

you could run the check disk utility
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive

hope this helps

How to return it to his original cursor?

I'm assuming you are using windows here so if not please inform:

go to start > control panel (maybe start > settings > control panel)

in control panel click 'printers and other hardware' then click 'mouse' (may just be under 'mouse' depending on view)

in mouse properties window click on the 'pointers' tab at the top

you can either select 'windows default' from the scheme drop-down box to change all pointer back to default, or you can find the pointer you want to change under the 'customize', highlight it, and select 'use default' to change an individual pointer back to default.

click 'ok' when you are finished making changes.

Keyboards wont work

Try hitting the Tab key from the web page address. If you can type then, it sounds like you've got a mouse pointer problem. Also try changing your search engine. Left click on the Yahoo symbol, then "Manage Search Engines" and select a different search program (Google, Amazon, e-bay, etc).

Since you can type, it's not a keyboard problem.

You may also want to try dragging your browser to a different part of your screen and trying to type with the window in a different part of the display. It's unlikely, but you may have a bad touchpad that doesn't recognize the upper right corner, so moving it to a different part of the display may isolate that problem, remote though it is.

MS Wireless IntelliMouse 2.0 pointer direction reversed (up/down)

Go into the control panel and click on the mouse icon and see if you can change to settings back to normal.

If not then check under your start menu and see if the intellimouse software is installed there and go into it to change the settings from there.
