Try decreasing the screen contrast. Turn the calculator on. Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the down-arrow key to lighten the screen. Does that do it?

Samsung synchmaster 913n vga connected to pc and monitor but black screen just, if i press the leftest button it says "test good" but still black screen

I would first check to make sure your video card is seated properly, unless you have an integrated video chip then you might want to insert a video card on the PCI slot to make sure that the problem is not with your motherboard or your PCI slot. If no problem with that, use a flash light at an angle to light up your monitor when your computer is on and plugged into your monitor to see if the screen is on but maybe too dim too see. If that is the case it sounds like the capacitors in your monitor might be causing a problem. Sometimes the capacitors do no look busted or bulged at the top, one might be bad internally without giving an indication by looks.

Hi. I have hp 6735s laptop and when I move him screen suddenly go black or in rare case white and I need to hold power button to shut down and when I turn him on everything is normal until I move him again...

When you say you move him, do you mean lifting the unit and moving to another location or just moving the lid (changing angle of the lid/lcd)?

If changing the angle of the display gives you black/white screen, you may be having problem with the LCD cable, it might be loose or defective. But if moving the unit to another location gives you the black/white screen, one component of the unit might be loose. Either you need to properly reinsert the memory of the harddrive. If these simple steps will not resolve the issue then you might need to check the whole motherboard including the connection to the LCD.

Hope this helps.

When viewed at an angle my lcd screen looks like a negative - is there anything I can do?

Unless this is some new behaviour of your TV, this is something totally normal, it's a common problem that is inherent to the Lcd technology, there is nothing you can do here.
Some TV have a better Viewing angle than others and it is getting better with every new screen generation.
On some model you can have a "Magic Angle option" but it is just for vertical angles - If for example you are looking at your TV from a lower or higher point of view.

Hope this helps

I have a black screen on an acer aspire laptop it starts up but screen is black starts fully if i look at an angle i can see the screen but its hard to make out

If you shine a flashlight at it and look it from an angle and can see your screen then the inverter board is bad and it needs to be replaced.

You can hook up an external monitor to your laptop in the meantime to use your system.

I have fix and deg on my fx 992s and I am only getting results and can only enter numbers to 1 dp. How do I remove this?

Ok. Press [MODE] key three times until you see a screen that shows Fix SCI and NORM. Under FIX you have 1, under SCI you have 2 and under NORM you have 3.

You cannot remove FIX, unless you replace it with another display MODE (SCI or NORM or ENGineering).

You cannot remove DEG unless you change angle unit to RADians or GRAds.
To set angle Unit You start by pressing MODE twice to get a screen that displays DEG, RAD and GRA and below them 1, 2 , qnd 3. If you press 2 the angle unit will be set to Radians. DEG will disappear, but RAD will be shown.

Whatever the display format for numbers (FIX, SCI, NORM, ENG) you can always enter numbers of any length. It is their displaying that is affected by the FIX,SCI, etc. mode.

If you want more than 1 decimal digit, press [MODE] three times, then select 1: FIX. You will be asked to select the number of decimal digits (from 0 to 9). You could take 2, 3 or 4, or anything you want.

  1. To summarize: Indicators on screen reflect the configuration or mode you are in.
  2. They can be replaced by others but you cannot clear the screen of the indicators.
  3. You can select the number of decimal digits in your results,
  4. but there is no restriction on the numbers you enter.

Laptop Screen Freezes and turns black When Adjusted angle.

It is possible that the video cable is chafing in the point where it passes through the hinge assembly. Try reseating the video cable, if that doesn't help, the replacing the LCD cable assembly is the likely fix.

Phone display is very dim-can barely read

Well, first you will have to check your options, if you can read it enough to get in there.  You may have the backlight turned off.  If the backlight is not turned off, then you probably have a bad backlight and will have to take it to your provider to get it fixed.  Replacing a screen/backlight is not something I would attempt to do unless you are certain you know exactly what you are doing as you can render the phone completely useless.

Black screen no picture

Your inverter has died and is a very common fault with all LCD monitors. The inverter powers the lights that sit behind the screen so you can see what is happening. So no lights, no picture.
Shining a bright torch at an angle from the top you will be able to see the image on screen, but very feintly.
This is something your local TV repair shop will be able to take care of fairly cheaply. It's not a good idea to play around in these types of monitors unless you have some understanding of what lay ahead.

Let me know if I can help further.

Screen going black

Get a strong flashlight and shine in at at angle toward the screen.
If you can see the image, which you probably can, then your laptop's backlight is malfunctioning.

Since you've only had it for a month, check with the retailer or manufacturer to see if it is still under warranty. Hopefully it is and you can get it replaced.

But before you send it back, if it has a DVI, HDMI or VGA port on it (most likely it does, unless it's an ultra-slim model), connect a PC monitor to it and turn it on. You may have to press a certain key combination like Fn-F4 or Fn-F8 to switch between the laptop display and external display, but hopefully the screen will display on the external display.

From there you can use your laptop as necessary to back up any data that you need before you send it in for service.
