Question about Maytag Atlantis MDG7400AW Gas Dryer
My Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer will come on, but will not dry clothes. We had a load of towels in before bed and had it on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still going. Disconnected the vent from the back and checked to see if warm air would blow out- but, only cold air. Can't hear the ticking noise - do you think it is the ignitor????
the gas coils have a problem. as the dryer heats p the coils on the gas valve are failing causing the dryer not to heat. replace the coils and you should have no problem

On my dryer the igniter is rt behind the front panel. Take off the dooe and a few screws and pull it off. If the igniter lights at all it is good. Try also checking the entire discharge vent hose as sometimes it gets clogged way dn line and you might not notice it. Try squeezing it all the way dn.

1. Ignitor needs replacing
2. Gas manifold needs replacing (less likely)
3. Make sure the temp controls are in proper setting
4. Remove lower panel of unit and look for ignitor to glow or spark when you start the dryer.
5. Remove ignitor and inspect for cracks, and check with ohm meter.

Try running it with the vent disconnected and feel the air coming out of the dryer. It should have good flow. If it dries good, your pipe may be clogged.
