Check your stitch length, is it a zero (0)? Read your manual for other tips, if that does not work. You can also go to brother-usa.com for your manual and other frequently asked questions. Their phone#1-877-276-8437. Good luck

Have Pfaff 7570. Can I sew 4 holed button?

If it is a flat button that will fit under the presser foot, of course you can stitch it down with your sewing machine. (I like to use gluestick from the school supply bin to stick the button to the fabric.) Be sure to deactivate the feed dogs while you are sewing on buttons.

You'll just need to stitch two button holes and then rotate the fabric & button and stitch the other two holes.

The feed dogs on my sewing machine will not raise

if your question is that the fabric didn't feed when I tried a zig-zag stitch , well then this might be a normal thing to happen on your machine , some machines when set to MAX size zig-zag stitch retract the "feed dogs" as you call them so that the operator can hand move the fabric around under presser foot , this is task called "darn" and its usually for filling large holes in fabric (socks!!) and for adding embroidery too (special needle)

One thing to try is that the button hole lever has not moved to the front or back of the guide, make sure that it is in the direct middle. Sometimes they get moved when you take out or insert fabric. If, that is not it, call Singer and find out if there is a problem with this model, because if it is maybe you can exchange it. Their phone number, 1-800-4singer

I am trying to sew buttonholes with the one step button hole function on my Singer 3116 - Simple. I have been using the function with no issues, but now for some reason, the machine is stopping short and...

There doesnt seem to be a reason - you are doing everything as it should be - lever down to stop the foot according the the button size is the most overlooked step.

I would take the buttonhole foot off and see it is moving as it should. Don't force as the plastic parts can break and then try again to make the buttonhole.

If you still cannot make the buttonhole, the problem may be the control switch and this would have to be checked by a Singer Sewing Machine Tech.

Check your warranty - faulty switches are covered for two years, but you pay the labor.

Fabric stuck in hole where bobbin is underneath

Turn off the machine and remove the needle.

Lift the presser foot and remove the inner hoop and then the rest of the hoop.

Move the fabric to one side and cut the threads with a seam ripper.

Open the needle plate.

Remove the bobbin and bobbin case.

Clean away any thread or lint in this area.

You should repeat the last three steps routinely as lint and thread snips can accumulate in these area and cause mis-stitching.

Replace the bobbin case, bobbin and needle plate.

Use a new needle.

Changing stitches on a White 1418 sewing machine...

I have a White 1418. Here's how you do it:

1. Attach the buttonhole presser foot (should have come with your machine) and place the fabric underneath.
2. Set the stitch length knob to 0, the zigzag width knob to 5, and set the needle position to center. Sew 3-5 stitches.
3.Change the stitch length to 0.5, the zigzag width to 2, and the needle position to left. Sew to the entire length of your buttonhole.
4.Set stitch length knob to 0, zigzag width knob to 5, and needle position to center and sew about 3-5 stitches
5. Set the stitch length knob to 0.5, zigzag width to 2, and set needle position to the right. Pressing the R button (reverse button), sew up to the top stitches.
6. Remove the fabric and open the button hole with a button hole cutter.

Sounds complicated, but it's really easy. I love this machine, you just have to know how to use it!
