Question about Coleman Mach 15 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

System works fine for about five minutes - blows well refrigerated air air, fan works great. Then the circuit breaker shuts it down every time. Could this five year old unit need recharging? On fan only, it operates well.

It sounds like it does need recharging, yes. 5 years is about average for such a system, if it is used fairly regularly during warm seasons...

It could be the condenser portion has a circuitry issue as well, something causing a fault that trips the circuit breaker.... I would investigate the cost of a recharge and if it is anywhere near the cost of a new unit I would just replace it if it were me. I'd hate to have you recharge the machine only to find it still throws the breaker, and there isn't much of a way to tell without trying it..

Hi I keep getting a ch 67 after the unit starts fine and runs for like five minutes fan on all units work during that five minutes any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Low freon pressure switch is turning it off. As the coils cool down the pressure drops. As time goes on it will run shorter and shorter cycles. In warm weather freon 22 low pressure should be near 70 lb
410A freon about 150 on the low side

Air conditioner will cool for five minutes and then turn off. comes on and off sporatically but never stays on for more than five minutes.

could be the pressure cut off switch is working out in advance as it cut off. If there is enough cooling then it can be possible that the filter is clogged and the condenser is clogged. If by choosing a higer fan speed for blowing iff the ac goes on for more time, then clean up all the fins and filters to make it more efficient to heat exchange, if not change the thermostat/ pressure cut off switch.

The unit runs fine, but the compressor kicks on for 2 seconds and then shuts off, this just repeats over and over every minute or so. so it never blows cold air.

It could be a capacitor problem; however, more often than not, the compressor will fail to start at all with a failed capacitor. The sytem could be low on refrigerant causing the compressor to overheat and shut down. Another item to check before hiring a tech is to inspect all of your electrical connections and repair/tighten if necessary. Loose connections can cause motors to overheat and shut down.
Because you state "the unit runs fine" I'm assuming the fans are blowing air normally across the evaporator (blowing inside the RV) and normally across the condensor coil (blowing outside). Is this correct? If so, because the refrigerant level will need checked, you will need to have a licensed service tech look at your unit and offer his/her expert opinion of what your best options are.

Without having a toolbox in hand and being onsite to repair your system, I do hope you find this information very helpful to you in items to check yourself. Let me know if you have any further questions. :-)

Refrigerator cools as normal. Trips 15 AMP circuit breaker.

a full size refrige has to be on a 20 amp circuit, a 15 amp is just not big enough.. you should also know that this circuit has to be on a 12-2 gauge wire.. I also highly recommend installing a 20 amp HD receptacle

Gateway M-1625 shutting down few times a day

I am havin the same problem at the company i work at. The problem with our machines has to do with the mother boards. But you might want ot check the power supply and make sure it is rated high enough to run your system. Next check/blow out your CPU cooler, and go into bios and see if it is set up to shut off at a certain temp.

Our casablanca ceiling fan has power going to the fan and the remote works but the fan does not nor does the light

If you have the intelitouch system, It's probably the circuit board in the fan. Casablanca has great motors but touchy boards. I ordered mine from and installed it myself, it wasn't too difficult. Hope this helps
