E6-F2 on whirlpool double ovens is always a problem with the control board. E1-F2 is a problem with the touchpanel. The control board can be rebuild quickly and reliably at www.fixyourboard.com

My WP double oven RBD305xxx started beeping with error F2 E6. Oven light would still come on but display went dark, oven would not operate. I opened everything up and found an installer page inside the oven control area which gives you the key to the error codes along with the schematics etc. F2 E6 said my keypad was faulty and my investigation revealed the control board went bad. You can buy a new control board (or trust the guys who fix these and get one from them.) If you are a DIYer with electrical repair skills, read on....I pulled the oven out and opened the top, pulled the control board and keypad....on control board I noticed there was brown discoloration near the resistor and small capacitors. These board are expensive so I figured I'd risk $4 at the local electronics store for some caps and give it a shot. So, I de-soldered the .22uf, 33uf and 100uf (2) caps and all were out of spec. using my multimeter which has a cap tester. I was not able to fully check the 1000uf big brown cap as my meter only goes up to 400uf but it was taking some charge so I risked leaving it in. Plugged all connectors back in and oven now works, keypad is fine, large cap hopefully lasts, if not, I now have the spare. Not an easy fix if you do not have component level repair skills but none of the other posts fully explain this test/repair so I hope this helps at least understand a possible cause of failure.

If you get an error code, try first resetting the code:
1. Disconnect power for about two minutes.
2. Connect back power.
3. If code re-appears, then eventually replace faulty control board..

Mostly E6 - F2 error codes are due to faulty control board.
Buy a new control board or get it repaired. Personally I would suggest www.partsimple.com have parts for almost all appliance and that too at lowest price. They even ship fast.

SOURCE: My whirlpool oven is displaying E6 and F2. It

Your cancel key is defective at this point. follow these steps below?

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

I keep getting the following error message: E6 F2 - what does this mean?

If you have a Whirlpool oven, the F2 E6 error means that the Cancel key line is open. You will need to replace the keypad or the keypad and controller board (if a single assembly) if the keypad doesn't respond to a press of the Cancel Key.

I hope this helps.

Model RBD245PDB14 Error code F2 E6(left side) replaced original key pad with new. One week after install same error code and display blank out. Unpluged and reattached key pad cable but still diplays F2 E6...

If you replace the keypad and continue to have the same error you also have to replace the electronic control.

You can contact fixyourboard. com for a price to repair your control at a reduced price over a new control. It also comes back with a better warranty than anew control.

Whirlpool code E6 F2

Hello ssuebe51
Welcome

Turn the power off to the oven.

Check the connection from the key pad to the clock.

If the connection is good then put back together.

Turn power back on and press the cancel button.

If the error code returns after 60 seconds then the keypad will have to be replaced.

Thank you huuum

We had the same error codes F2 E6. We were told to turn off the breaker to the oven for 5 minutes and then turn it back on and it will reset itself. We tried it and it worked! Whirpool wanted to send someone out on a service call. Thank goodness we didn't!
