Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
With respect to your blu ray problem it sounds like the actual blu ray controller on the PS3 motherboard has gone. This could be just coincidence or it could of been a result of the re-flow. If the drive works in another PS3 and you have used all working parts in the re-flowed PS3 and it does not work then I am sure it is the motherboard that is at fault, there is nothing else it can be.
As to the other PS3 you re-flowed, I have heard of this problem before where there is no video after the re-flow process has been carried out. Again it is possible that the RSX display chip has been damaged but just try one thing before you decide to call it a day.
Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)
Press and hold the power button for two beeps (the first will be as soon as you press it)
Release the power button as soon as you hear the second beep.
This will force the PS3 to reinitialize the display and hopefully bring it back to life. If it does not work then something is damaged on the motherboard to do with either the image processor or the main RSX display chip
I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

Wow this is bizarre, you say the blu-ray drive works in one system, but not another? And you have used the data cable from the system it worked from and put it in the non working one and it still doesn't work? Have you tried the board and the data cable from the working system in the non working one? If at that point it still doesn't work, it has to be some power issue, there is no other possibility even, since at that point it is practically a whole new / different machine...
Doesn't make much sense, please verify that. The video problem on the second system sounds like a bad board as well... have you tried a whole new board in that one?
