Question about Computers & Internet

Using Smarterm, sometimes we get a message Out of Licenses. Even when we start shutting down Smarterm on workstations, it can be hours before we are able to start a new session, and at times it seems it is necessary to reboot the workstation. We think we have enough licenses, how can we check what is in use and how can we resolve this apparent problem?

Well firstly I would suggest you contact smart... To
find out how much clients your lisence supports.. If
you are using more clients than u support you will
have that problem..

In the meantime will awaiting a response shutdown
all work stations and reboot your server.. Turn on
each machine 1 at a time using 5 minute intervels
until you get the error message.. Once you do that's
the max clients your lisence supports...

Now your problem may not even be the lisence... It
could be a corrupt registry on your server.. If so that
can be easily fixed with a system restore... Try those
and keep me posted..

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to Shut Down a Work Station Remotely (Windows)?

If you are using the Remote Desktop Connection option of Windows, then the only option it provides is to logout. If however, you can get to the Command Prompt (Admin), then you can use the 'shutdown' command from the command prompt window. Type in 'shutdown /?' to see a list of options.

What brand of pc is this? Download a diagnostic program to test internal functions. Sounds like maybe a motherboard or power supply issue.

Hp invent repeating startup error

If it is showing a blue scree of death (BSOD) and shuts downbefore you can read the error message try this:
Turn the computer off, then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F8 keyrepeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Scroll down below Safe Mode and youwill see an option to Disable Automatic Restart. Select it and rebootyour machine. Next time it boots up you will be able to read the errormessage. You'll probably need a system disc or repair disc to fix theblue screen error message.

I have a Acer aspire 6930. Sometimes, my laptop won't shut off, only showing "shutting off" message. I come back after an hour, still not off. What is going on? I have to forcibly turn it off by pressing...

ok sounds like you unit is in very serious need of cleaning and maybe even some virus removal.
to scan and remove viruses ( click here ). install this to your computer and allow it to scan and remove any found threats.
also click start then run or command prompts .
type : cookies.
a page will pop up. you will need to delete everything in this except index. index is a system file and can not be deleted. close this window and empty recycle bin. now you will need to repeat this step but this time you will type in : temp
delete everything in this window. these are the things that will slow your computer down. you will also need to do a disk clean up. and a disk defrag.
after that you computer will be running faster.
also i subjest removing some things from your start up menu. this will slow the computer down from shutting down quickly.
i hope this was helpful.

Refrigerator seems to turn off. My ice cubes start melting them in a few hours it will sometimes turn back on.

can bea few diff issues actually, might be a bad compressor, overheating, shutting off and then in a few hours restarting when cooled off enough. any noises associated with the shut down?? perhaps a motor trying to start(reallly sounds like its struggling to start fro 10 secs or so and then clicks off).. can be a faulty tmep control getting stuck, or even stuck in defrost mode longer then it needs to be,

Shutting off

i have the same problem...laptop randomly shuts down, but its even done it within a minute of turning it on so i don't think its a heat issue. Sometimes it'll run for over an hour with no problem and never shut down, but other times it randomly shuts down sometimes within a minute, sometimes maybe 10 mins, sometimes 30 mins or more ...its maddening! i'd love to find a solution if anyone's found one. Thanks.
