JC If your chair is an Invacare locate The lever on the right side of the lower seat cushion that lets you adjust the seat back it might be stuck letting the seat back not lock. Try setting the back where you want it and pushing down on the handle to see if you can get it to lock. If you can't get it to lock you'll just hafta get another seat or find a used seat that you can take the locking lever off of. Hope this helps

Probably has a broken or jammed lock When you position the seat try pulling/pushing the handle instead of relying on the spring to engage the lock. If the seat frame is broken remove it for repair or replace with another seat back

Passenger seat won't lock in place

The adjusting lever for seat position is not locking into place. On the bottom of seat are runners on each side with holes in them that the adjusting lever tabs will lock in and hold seat in place. The seat slides on the runners if those tabs are raised. There is also a connecting wire or rod from the lever to the other side of seat so when lever is pulled up, tabs on both runners are raised for seat to slide. Something is keeping the tabs from locking into the holes on the runners in your car. Maybe the adjusting lever is broken somewhere, or the wire/rod came loose, or the lever is just dry and sticky and needs a shot of WD40 to loosen it up. If you can't see it and fix it with seat in place, then pull the seat back off for the repair. Good luck. Post back if my explanatiopn is not clear or you still need help.

My trunk won't open

hi some models do have fold down seats, but if yours does you would know, if you have to get into the boot to manually open the lock remove the lower back seat by 2bolts near floor level, then the upper seat by 2 or 3 bolts that will now be exposed, then simply lift out

Back seats won't fold down 97 toyota camry

The plastic pull on the top of the seat may have been screwed down too much. If that happens, it will not allowing the lock mechanism to fully unlock. Unscrew the top plastic pull a little at a time and at the same time reach around and pull the lock leaver up until it is in the full unlock position. You should then be able to pull the plastic lever up normally and fold down the seat.

Iv been given a bugaboo cameleon from interstate and it won't open ? and the seat is also attached now ..and I can't get it off .'it was made in 2005. Thank you .

Frame won't open with seat attached and the seat should not fit on a closed frame? The seat is the locking component for the frame. Someone has used brute force to get it like that and it'll take brute force to undo the damage. Get a can of silicon spray and lubricate the seat locks and turn stroller upside down to get some to run down inside the seat legs. Press both square seat release buttons inward (one side has a small safety lock you heed to side across before you push inward) and heave up! You cant do any more damage than what may have been done. Cable is broken or stretched. pick up the bottom seat and see the cable end if broken or slack from being stretched pull that cable and then the back should fold down. Ibelieve you will need to remove seat to repair the cable. the bottom seat when lifted pulls on a cable that releases the backs lock to fold down

Use the ignition key for the lock under where the back seat goes, right above the chain. turn the key in the lock and pull up on the cowl, it will come right off, then you can pop the rear pillion "backseat" into it's place
