Transfer pictures from camera to computer

I have two digital cameras and transferring pictures couldn't be easier.

I simply plug the usb lead into the camera and switch it on and then plug the lead into the computer. Both the camera and the computer recognise they have been connected and the Windows photo wizard starts automatically. From there photos can be downloaded from the camera or deleted.

Most of the behavior occurs when the laptop with battery or the computer can not supply the stable power. The problem is often resulted from connecting lots of USB devices at the same time. Because most of USB device use the power supply from computer, it leads to the insufficient power supply of computer. Please make sure that the computer supplies stable power. You may connect the power cable if you use laptop. Moreover, we suggest you removing the other unnecessary USB device.

USB Port issues

USB ports will go bad sometimes. The devices require power and sometimes the power fails in them. If you have a power supply for the external device try connecting it to it and then using the usb.

O/W you probably have internal failure.

I have a kingston 16 gb data traveler 101 usb 2.0 the problem is while connecting the usb to laptop it is not detecting the message is showing please insert disk in to drive H

Is the drive not seen on any computer or laptop you have tried it in? If it works on other computers / laptops then the issue is with your laptop. If it fails to be recognised on other computers, then there is a chance it has failed.
Also, if you are using any emulation / copy software such as Alcohol or Daemon tools, there is a file called sptd.sys, which can cause this issue. Before advising that you delete or remove this, can you try the usb drive in another computer and indicate which version of windows you are using?

My seagate 7200.7 120GB hard drive isn't recognised by my computer and isn't recognised when I connect it to a USB to SATA cable

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

WD Elements USB drive not recognized

Try going to Disk Management and see if they show up there.

  1. Click Start
  2. Right Click My Computer
  3. Click Manage
  4. Click Disk Management
If your computer is recognizing a mass storage device they should show up in disk management and you can just assign them a drive letter.

Computer won't recognise camera to download images

** Problem Solved **

I found it wasn't the camera entirely to blame. I tried another USB cable on another pc, and although the camera was doing the same thing as my problem, the computer recognised the camera as new hardware, and asked me how to access the pictures. So I was able to get the pictures from the camera to the computer, and then saved them on to my Kingston flash drive. So taking the flash drive to my daily PC, I plugged in my flash drive via a USB extension lead, and discovered that would read either... alarm bells rang. So I unplugged the lead, and put the flash drive straight into the computer direct. The computer recognised it immediately. So plugging in the extension lead again, and the flash drive, it read this now. So I tried the camera, and it recognised it.

So I don't know exactly what the problem was, but it was solved... saved me a lot of running around and money ;)
