Ativa md 460C shredder overload error - Office Depot Office Equipment & Supplies

The misalignment message is about the catch bin and the shredder! NOT THE TEETH!
Check to make sure the shredder is properly placed on the catch bin. There is a built in safetymechanism in the Ativa MD460. When the shredder is replaced "backwards" the safety pin is not tripped.
Look for a curve in the lip on the back of the shredder and align it with the bin. Worse case, just pick up the heavy shredder top, turn the unit around 180 degrees and put back down. My light came onimmediately.

I have a Ativa MD 1000 that I just bought. It ran for a few minutes the first time I used it an then stopped. I turned it off and unplugged it in case it had overheated. The temperature light did not come on. I wait for over 30 minutes and tried using it again. I was able to shred a couple of sheets of paper and it stopped again. The next morning I couldn't get it to work at all. The green ready light is on but the shredder will not start. I can't tell if anything is stuck in it. How do I getting running?
