Question about Watches

1 Answer

Hi, I have a casio ef532d 1avef watch and I would like to remove the bezel in order to restick the 10 (or 22) mark on the dial, as it is wandering under the glass. Does the bezel go out or should I open the clock by the back and remove the movement ? Thanks in advance for any help. Marc (France)

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
You can not do this yourself. You can not remove bezel as it is sealed. To go through the back requires removing all the watch inside components and you will have to remove the winder. NOT RECOMMENDED TO DO YOURSELF.
Take to a local watchmaker, or send here:

Best regards. Jewel

Where can i get a resin watch strap for a Casio Wv-200U-1AVEF

Most department and discount stores that sell Casio watches will carry a general assortment of replacement bands for those watches. However, your model takes a somewhat specialized band that may not be stocked by these stores. Instead, if you're looking for a local source for a replacement band, you might need to visit a "quick watch repair" kiosk or store in your local shopping mall or visit a jeweler who sells Casio watches. Often, both of these types of businesses keep a more comprehensive selection of authentic Casio bands in stock.

Replacement bands are also available online. For example, just because it was near the top of the Google search results I received, this web site has a wide variety of Casio bands, along with suggestions of the watch models to which they go. I have not ordered from this web site, and I have no affiliation with them (I actually think some of their prices are on the high side), but it's one of many online sources for the watch band you need:

Good luck finding the band you need at a decent price!

The black plastic ring, w/ white markings (bezel ?), that goes on the metal (dial) which moves around, fell off. Is this part avail., and if so, for how much ?

This part is called the bezel, you are correct. They are available to buy as a separate item for certain watches, but not all. You didn't mention what type of watch it was. Most major brands, like Rolex, Omega, Tag Heuer etc all sell bezels for their watches, brands though like Diesel, Rotory, Seiko etc, do not sell bezels as a stand alone item. Should you wish to let me know the make and model of the watch, I will see if I can obtain one, or failing that I will see if I have one that will fit.

A metal jewel fell off of the watch face and is loose on the dial

I suggest you take it to a watch shop and ask them to repair it for you.

It can be more difficult than it appears to remove and replace backs particularly.

What is the purpose of the rotating bezel on the Callaway CY2058? It has no markings, which it needs to be useful.

If you have no markings on bezel there is no practical use for this feature.
Bezels with markings are used as a tachymeter (for calculating speed of the moving object) or as a countdown timer for sporting events or diving.
In your case bezel is becoming loose and thats why it is turning as I can't see the point why the watch should be fitted with rotating bezel with no markings on it.

Push the MODE (down left) bottom six times, you will see in your display HS then push the ADJUST bottom (up left) until your digital time start to flashing then push the SEARCH (down right) bottom the hands time will start to move, once you have set the time you want push the ADJUST bottom (up left) once and push the MODE (down left) once and you done.

Lost the manual for my Casio AW-80-1AVEF, cannot work out how to adjust the time, i have used 'adjust' and mode but that just changes the lcd display not the clock face...

Go to http://www.casio.com/support/
Click on watches. That should open up a popup. Select manuals and enter the 4 digit module number from the back of your watch. If they have that model, then you should be able to download the manual.

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am here at your service.

Thank you for using FIXYA!
