Live local police scanner on your PC

recently while browsing the web, i ran into this site i downloaded were you hear the police radio on your PC. But what id like to know is were can i Find the same type of site but in my area Glendale California or in L.A.. The one i found is http://www.scansoutheasternmass.com/.. can you guide me to a right site and what type of codec do i need to use to relay the broadcast?
