Turntable will not turn with glass turntable on it

Make sure the platter is correctly seated on the plastic drive. Now gently press down on the platter and see if it resists turning. If the platter turned easily, the plastic drive is spinning on the motor shaft and needs replaced. If the platter resists movement, the motor under the floor needs to be replaced. To replace either part visit the web site www.partsdirect.com If you found any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solution. Check first the motor coupling under the turntable, if that is not the problem , then test and eventually replace the turntable motor.

Over the range microwave turntable has stopped turning

You give very little information Toni, but it seems the turntable motor is defective. If you are comfortable with this you must remove the cabinet (probably six screws in the back) and locate the motor at the bottom of the unit. Check all connections and connect the motor to a 120 volt source. If it is defective, order a new one on-line from the manufacturer. Your other option is to replace the oven. This would be my suggestion unless it is still in warranty.

Maytag mmv1153BAB built in plate not turning

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either is a pretty simple job.

You need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Turntable no longer turns

Your problem is either a weak or slipping motor or a broken / cracked turntable coupler. If the coupler turns loosely without actually engaging the motor, it is bad. If the coupler is good or looks good, it's probably the motor. One test of the motor is to firmly grab the shaft with pliers and try to gently turn it. It should turn with some resistance and make a whining sound as it turns, since it is a highly geared motor. If the motor turns very very freely - or not at all - then it is bad. You can see an exploded diagram and order parts via the Jenn-Air (Maytag) Web site at http://services.maytag.com/abs/PartsStore.do?nextPage=psstartpage You will need to enter your full model, which is apparently one of the following: JMC7000ADB JMC7000ADQ JMC7000ADW Referring to the CABINET-BASE-CAVITY diagram found there, you will see: - REF 23 motor - REF 27 coupler One of those is likely the culprit.
