- HiI have a HP C4180 and it says that it is failing to align the cartridges, though they seem to be in correctly. I think I have the correct cartridges in there. What can I do?

I took some of the paper out of the paper tray (it was too full) then pulled the cartridge out, wiped off the contact points, reinstalled the cartridge and it worked.
The User Guide mentioned something about colored paper will cause the alignment to fail so that's what gave me the idea to check the paper tray too. I had white paper in the tray but had just refilled it and it was a bit too full. Not sure which of these actions corrected the problem, that's why I mentioned them both.
