0-1 mitutoyo micrometer reads E--o5 i have replaced battery and cant make it go away?

A data sheet I got with my Digimatic 572
series scale says:
"Keep the scale unit free from water and oil.
Do not dip or sink the scale unit in liquid.
If E--05 is displayed, wipe the scale surface
with a soft cloth. Apply a slight amount of
low viscosity oil, such as CRC3-36, to the
scale surface to keep out water."

How do I shut it off

Digital micrometers with LCD displays usually do not have a power on.off feature. Older units have an "on" button only that is used to turn them back on after a predetermined time-out or period if inactivity to conserve battery capacity but newer Mitutoyo mics cannot be turned off.

How to fix E-05 error on a micrometer?

On the older ones, it means you overrode its ability to keep up with movement of the slide. Either you moved the slide too fast, or it has water, oil, or dirt on it. Reset by turning it off and on. Clean the scale first and wipe with a VERY lightly oiled rag.
But that reading looked like this: E--e5. If yours says Err 05, it's probably a newer one. In that case, call Mitutoyo to find out: 1--888-648- 8869.

How to reset depth micrometers , any style , easiest method for Mitutoyo line

The nut on the end of each rod is for calibrations. On a clean flat surface check your reading at "0"and see if adjustment is needed either left or right on the nut for getting before zero or after zero readings. Adjust the nut as little as possible and re check for zero multiple times because the nut is sensitive. hope this helps.

User Manual?

r binson-

Mitutuyo does not produce a manual specific to the 193-211; however, you can find the manual applicable to all of Mitutuyo's series of digital outside micrometers at: Link.

If you have found this helpful please take a moment to give me four thumbs up.

0-1 OD Digital Mic Mitutoyo hard to spin

You have a nice micrometer! Your problem could be caused too many different things. I would take the lead screw spindle off first and then clean both assemblies. (You can use W-D 40) this will allow you to clean the I.D. I do not know how much you understand how a micrometer works and would caution you not to adjust any of the adjustmants on the micrometer because it could end up out of calibration. I would be happy to take a look at it and free it up and calibrate it for you! I was the Manager and working Supervisor of a precision Tool Room for over 25 years and have quite a selection of parts. I would not want any compensation for the help and I would just ask that you include a prepaid return package. I am retired now and miss the work and I am constantly cleaning all my tools and I could do it then. Here is my e-mail address jedriscoll@rcn.com

Good luck, Jack

How to reset Mitutoyo 314-351 "V" anvil micrometer. It should not read "0" when turned all the way in.

In order to reset the zero point for your specific micrometer, you will need to have a standard set of pre-set dimensional pin(s). You can check the attached link (page 71 of the Mitotoyo catalog) for the information you need). I guess you could try to find or make a pin with the same dimensions as those noted on the catalog page, but if you're using this in a manufacturing setting, you might have no choice but to purchase a set of gauges for calibrating your micrometer.

The only other option is to contact the manufacturer for an alternative method, but I doubt they'll be able to provide any alternative, as precision setting of the zero point is required for accurate readings with this specialty micrometer.
