It might be the contact strip of the Printer which remains in touch with Cartridge going rip off for the Black one.
You need to repair it. It will not cost you much.

pull out the whole cartridge,(plus print head), try to blow on the hole of the ink tank located on the upper part, then see whether there is a bleed, but if not, you need a cleaning solution to clean the clog.

As long as you downloaded the correct drivers from Canon.com they should work. You should, using Control Panel / Add Remove Programs, remove any and all software for your printer. Double check at the Canon site that you have downloaded the correct drivers, and then do a clean install. Check the manual and follow their instructions. If after all of that your printer still does not work, you may have a faulty printer.

right click my computers click properties then hardware and device manager scan for hardware changes then it will come in ? this mark right click that update driver insert the cd and click next .search in the cd name in xp it will come in G drive.

With the Canon printer, you just have to open the top cover and remove the inks, after that you lift the lever on the left side of the carriage. Tip the top of the printhead toward you and lift out. To replace you keep the lever up, insert the bottom first and then lay the top back and lower the lever. Install inks and you're good to go.
