    Hi Varun,

I have tried loggin on three different machine and face the same problem. I use a mac and I have this problem there as well. I have tried that on office machine as well.

I was provided with a URL last time and I was able to log on with that, but my laptop died and I lost that URL. Do you know of some alternative from where I can log on to these mails

Please don't try to mess around with your computer settings and internet settings, this is not with your computer nor your internet connection, it's from Yahoo. This happens sometimes when there's enormous users online or when yahoo loads files or updates the server. You can do nothing. But in rare cases, we can access the same mail using another browser, suppose if you can't access it from your Internet Explorer, try accessing it from the googlechrome (click here to download googlechrome) or you can try with firefox (click here). Since you can access it from your mobile, I would assume it's browser incompatible issue, possibly, will be fixed after few hours/days. For now, you can do nothing except switching the browser.

If you have another older or newer yahoo email, try with it. Unexpectedly sometimes some emails work, while others don't.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hello there,

This could be a problem with your internet connection already. Have you tried restarting your Wireless router and the modem as well?

1) Start with a clean browser
Download 'ccleaner' and run it through a couple of times, using the factory settings and the 'Run Cleaner' control until 0 bytes are seen to be cleaned following a scan
Run the 'Registry' from the left hand toolbar but 'Save' any changes after opting to 'repair' errors.
http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean...
2) On the sign in page click 'Messenger' > Conection
Toggle between 'Connect direct to the internet' and 'Proxy setting' make sure the information is correct in the lower 2 boxes
3) Check these settings in IE (even if you have another browser set as default)
a) Tools > Internet options > Connections > Lan settings > check 'Automatically detect settings - uncheck other options
b) Tools > work offline - make sure this is NOT checked and has a red X through it
4) Disable your firewall and do a trial sign in
5) Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > Lan Settings-uncheck Proxy server and check automatically detect setting
Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > dial-up and virtual private Network setting > select your default connection > setting > check automatically detect setting

This is a temporary yahoo error, there is nothing you are doing wrong. Do not be concerned, your email account is still working, and it is still receiving emails, you just can't access them for the time being. Give it at least 15 more minutes and try again. Occasionally they shut it down to do maintenance on the servers, usually it's done by now but once and a while it takes longer than they estimated. It could be down for a while still, just keep trying, but it is not a problem on your end at all, nothing you can do.

Thanks
Tim

Strange, I've never heard of such a thing, usually that error is indicative of an issue on their side. The only alternative way to do it would be to log in to their system in a roundabout way, then go to mail. So for example go to:

    https://login.yahoo.com/

Then log in, and once on that next page go to MAIL at the top, or from there you can just just try to go directly to:

    http://mail.yahoo.com

If you still get that error you will want to contact yahoo to see what is going on with your account, from another email of course, maybe a work email or some alternative email address.... you can contact them at:

    Hi Tim,

I am sure a URL was provided to me last time as it took nearly 4 days for yahoo to fix this problem, till that time was was using that URL to access mail.
Unfortunatly my laptop died a few days back and I lost that URL as well. There are some important mails that I am expecting so cant want that long. I have read some comments on Internet where people have said that they had this problem for months and then moved to some other provider

So... did you try the method I just suggested? Yahoo has a single log-in type system, the only other way to access your mail would be to use a POP3 agent, basically an email client such as Outlook or Eudora... and last time I checked Yahoo charges a fee for you to access your email this way. I am still looking around for this infamous other yahoo mail login site you speak of.. but nothing has turned up.

Hmm, maybe they had you use a european URL to get in... although I don't see how that would make sense... but give it a try:

    http://mail.yahoo.co.uk

Let me know what you find, also, what you found if you tried the first recommendation I had.

    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi Tim,

I have tried your first and second solution, but its not working. Is there a way to find out internally the mail that was sent to me last time. This person has mentioned 4-5 different things that I can try, one of that was a URL which eventually worked for me.

I have not paid anything last time to yahoo, why do you think that yahoo charged me for accessing the mails last time

I don't think it charged you before, I am saying they charge if you want to access your email with a third party client / software. But you have to log in to your email to even do this in the first place.... Any other URL they would have provided eventually takes you back to mail.yahoo.com, no matter what. It may have been a coincidence that previously when you tried another URL your email account started functioning again. You can try calling yahoo at 866-562-7219, let me know the results, I am curious if you can get through to a live person.

    Thanks
    Tim

Try logging out and then back in to your internet access. If that doesn't work try shutting off and restarting your computer. This usually works for me.

What do you mean by this? "There was a problem accessing your account. Please try again in a moment.Error #1" I can not open my yahoo account.

There have been problems with accessing yahoo email accounts from several areas. This is because your current network service provider could hardly connect to yahoo's email server's and vice versa. Can you try logging into http://wap.yahoo.com

This is yahoo's alternative site to check email. Click on the Email link on the upper right corner of the site and login your username and password.

I am getting this error while trying to log on to Yahoo mail There was a problem accessing your account. Please try again in a moment. Error #1 please help

1. Clear your cookies and temporary internet files (AKA cache), exit from the browser, then restart the browser.

2. If you are a home user and do not pay for a static IP address, get a different dynamic IP address; do
[Start] > [Run] > cmd > ipconfig
{{write down the IP address, then disconnect from the Internet with}}
ipconfig /release
{{wait a few minutes and then reconnect with}}
ipconfig / renew
{{compare the new IP address to the old to make sure your IP address changed, then try again}}

If you are an office user, try someone else's PC which will have a different IP address.

3. Log into Yahoo through a different country's server. I.e. if you usually log into Yahoo via http://login.yahoo.com/ or http://mail.yahoo.com/ then try http://login.korea.yahoo.com/ or http://nz.yahoo.com/

4. Access your Yahoo mailbox via http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/

5. Use a different browser. Use Firefox (free download from mozilla.com) if you normally use IE or Safari.

6. If you have a web accelerator (mostly an affliction of dial-up users) then try turning it off.

7. If you use a proxy server (mostly a corporate user thing) then try turning it off.

Error message when I try to log in - There was a problem accessing your account. Please try again in a moment. Error #1

Do not try multiple attempts to login to your account ( more than 5 at a time ), this usually temporarily blocks the account.

Try to Clear the temp files and folder also empty the Temporary files from Internet Explorer

open Internet explorer
Click on Tools - Internet Options - Delete Files - Delete Cookies- Click Apply Ok

Close Internet Explorer - try to login again after an hour.

The only reason for this error is the IP of your computer is not supporting for Yahoo emails. disconnect the internet and re-connect again and if it is still not working then download the latest internet explorer and try again.

hi

Yahoo has been upgrading and doing maintenance on their servers, causing them to go off line, seems to be affecting many accounts now. You can access your mail here for now through the back door, it's basic, but it works. http://us.m.yahoo.com/p/mail Or; http://de.m.yahoo.com/p/mail

Try to wait for several hours and then log in your account again. These problem is a glitch in the yahoo services. So just wait until you can log in to yahoo again. Try also switching to GMAIL if you want.
