Question about PC Desktops

Hi, I have the Philips PCVC740K Toucam Pro installed with Vista. The problems is that the camera keeps going ON and OFF, and Vista keeps beeping. Device manager also indicates that the camera is there one moment and gone the next. I installed the drivers successfully as per the Philips website. Thanking you in advance.

I don't know if it can have something to do with vista. Try to see if a newer driver can be founded.

let me know if the problem still goes on.

Dell Dimension XPS PC Desktop won't boot

Vista is available in 32 and 64 bit os.
if your system ran xp which was most likely 32 bit. And you have installed a 64 bit version os.
this will be your problem, also Vista requires more system RAM/Memory to run it.
If you get 1 beep at startup, it states the system is ok.
Alternatives are device drivers incompatability.
Check M$ website, regarding vistas minimum system requirements.

Frontech web cam model-JIL-2222 not able to install in my pc running on vista

Hi bijus5,

ok so i found the frontech site and got the the drivers (which was really hard to find) but nowhere on your camera specs does it claim that it works with vista or xp for that matter. Frontech had only one set of drivers which you can find by clicking here.
if you download the right drivers from the site and install them and the camera still does not work then one of two things is true:
1- the camera was not made with vista drivers
2- there is some damage to the camera or your usb port.

you can install the new drivers by downloading them to your desktop (or someplace you can find them) and double clicking on the file. they usually self install.
if they do not self install go to startmenu<control panel< system< hardware<device manager and find your camera which should have a yellow question mark next to it. right click on it then choose properties<update driver. find the files on your hardrive where you left them and install. by the way this procedure is a great thing to learn for any device you are going to instyall as it is the same for almost every device.

I hope this helps

Have you done a full format on the HDD?

Windows XP on Acer Aspire M1610

Hi Watashifr,

First you will need to boot up. When you do this you need to go into bios and then go to boot and disable the hard drive floppy and any other drivers. You must make sure you keep the cd driver as 'able', save setting and exit out of bios. This will let you reboot. After it`s done, the partition in the computer will reboot the computer. Make sure to go back into bios and able the hard drive, floppy etc...
I had the same problem, and solved it this way.
