I am assuming it is a Gas Heater. All it needs is a good blow out with compressed air. They tend to carbon up in the pilot light area. You will probably also find it is very dusty inside. Easiest way to clean the carbon out is to remove the hose at the heater and with compressed air blow through the fitting where you have removed the hose. Make sure you hold down the start button so the air can get through to the pilot light and jets. Hope this helps. Regards Bryan

Burner shuts down after it lights

Is the unit newer, and if so do the flames light for a couple seconds and go out a few times? If so this would most likely be a flame sensing problem!

Fires and runs for a few minutes then shuts off tries to re fire a few times then goes to 2 blinks=cannot sustain or detect flame.

There is a flame sensor located in the last burner that lights up. It is either not seeing flame or not getting flame to it within a certain time. Check the wire that comes from it and goes to the circuit board for a bad connection. Check any ground wire connections for a bad connection. Pull out flame rod (sensor) and polish it with a scrub pad or soft wire brush. If none of these recommendations help, replace the flame sensor. Make sure the flame travels to the last burner, if not, clean the flame tray that allows the flame to go from one burner to another.

On my goodman gmv95 blower starts, glowplug lights, gas turns on, then glowplug goes out and gas shuts off. any suggestions what the problem could be?

You did not mention how long the main burner stayed on. If it stayed on only a few seconds, most likely you have a dirty or bad flame rod. The flame rod is located in the flame path of the last burner to ignite. Take a toothbrush and scrub off any debris that may be on it. Also check all the wire connections from the rod back to the circuit board.

CBN30T,DESA, pilot lights, but flames out when the burner comes on.. burner stays on a few seconds and shuts off due to cold thermo-couple. pilot flame seems to jump up and disconnect from the jet, as if...

ONLY ONE OR TWO THINGS AT FAULT.YOU HAVE A BAD THERMOCOUPLE.THIS IS PROBLEM 90% OF TIME AND CHEAPEST REPAIR.IF THIS DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEM GAS VALVE IS BAD.HOW IT WORKS:THERMOCOUPLE WHEN HEATED WITH PILOT FLAME CREATES ASMAAL ELECRTRCAL SOURCE THAT HOLDS A MGNET OPEN AFTER HOLDING THE PILOT DOWN FOR ABOUT A MIN..THEN TURN GAS VALVE TO OPEN POSITION AND MAGNET WILL HOLD GAS VALVE OPEN.IF GAS VALVE DOES NOT STAY OPEN IT USUALLY INDICATES BAD GAS VALVE

Goodman furnace seems to be cycling too often. Burner not staying on long enough to put warm air into system. Burner quits after a few seconds then repeats.

dIf the burners are only staying on for about 5 seconds, you proably hav e a dirty flame sensor. Watch the burners light, the glow plug will light one end of the burners, in front of the last burner to light the will be a small thin rod, this rod must sense the flame or the gas will be shut down. Take a piece of steel wool and gently cleqan the rod.
