Hi, well NO, it is NOT a fuse, the reason this set has shut down, This is a classic switchmode power supply, which is shutting down the set to avoid a fire, explosion, or both. This set has developed a problem, that is so severe that the set must be shut down, This set should now, be removed from the Power, and in my professional recommendation, you should get a "Quote" for repair, from, an, Approved Service Center, this point is very important for a good result, Always contact, their local, "Head Office" Samsung, in your case. Now, when you get the information you want, from the "Quote" well, then you can decide as to repair of replacement. The reason we want an approved agent, is that way, all the engineers are trained on their own brand sets, they have seen almost all faults, and will get the job done quicker, and for less cost, and usually have original parts on hand, also sometimes, there has been a service bulletin in issued and the repair may be subsided or even free.
below is your user manual.

After a power outage, the tv wont turn back on. was hoping there is a fuse that may have blown.

Hi Michael,
Yes there is a fuse in your TV too and sometimes you do escape with a blown fuse after a power outage. Please open if you can the back cover of your TV, locate the fuse. If you do not see any damaged or blown parts, replace the fuse with the same rating. If the works, enjoy watching. If the fuse blows again, the power board needs to be repaired or replaced.
Good luck.

My 42lh30 lg tv was on the kids where watching movie on xbox then the tv and xbox just turned off. and will not come back on. the xbox is working. but there is no red light saying the tv is getting power....

Possibly you've had a power cut & a fuse associated with the TV has blown. Have you checked the fuse in the TV plug? If that's ok then probably a fuse internally in the TV has blown or something more serious has blown in the power supply

DOES NOT TURN ON

Hello
Open your TV and chekc whether the fuse in the power supply board has blown out or not. If it has blown out, never replace it with same type; befor troublshoot the reason for the blown out for the fuse. There must be some reason for the fuse to blow out. Without rectifying it, if you replace it with a new fuse, it may cause more damage to the set.
The power supply board to your TV will look like this.1_10_2012_4_00_19_am.jpg

Tv wont turn on

Hello tvlover, The outage actually is not the problem but the spike that happened when your power came back on did the damage. That aside, you may just have a blown fuse. If you are able to and feel comfortable work with electronics, with the TV unplugged from the wall, take the back off of your TV and take a look at the line cord going into the circuit board, this will lead you to a fuse holder, look at the fuse and see if the filament inside has been blown (opened). If the fuse is blown relace it with one of the same amperage and voltage which should be written on the metal part of the fuse. Once the fuse is replaced, plug the power cord back into the wall and power it up. If it comes on and plays, that was your problem and you can turn the TV off unplug it and put the back cover back on, plug your TV back into the wall and enjoy. However if the fuse blows again, that could indicate a problem with a short somewhere in the powersupply path and that will require troubleshooting the set. Now I we have to troubleshhot this TV you will need a multimeter, an oscilloscope, and a schematic of the TV (at a minimum). If you do have electronics experience to this level and do not have this type of equipment, You will have to take the TV to a repair shop. Thank you, and I hope that it is just a blown fuse.

Power surge I think

If you do not get any clicking or sound when trying to turn on the TV set, most likely the main fuse went out. This is almost always due to something else blowing out along or making the fuse to blow out. DO NOT SIMPLY REPLCE THE BLOWN FUSE! If there is other shorts inside the set, and you replace the blown fuse, you can cause more damage to the TV set. The best way to test this set if the fuse is blown would be to hook up a 100 to 150 watt light bulb across the blown fuse, and if there is a short in the TV set the light bulb will glow bright and stay bright. If the bulb lights up and goes dim maybe just maybe you got luck so replace the fuse and see what happens. If the light bulkb stays bright, there is a short in the set somewhere and if you do not have a service manual and a good multimeter and a knowledge of how the TV power supply works, you really should call in a pro to assist you in the repair of this TV. there is just too much High Voltage inside these TV sets to be experieenting around inside of it. Good Luck.
