Hi, the printer seems to have a problem with the horizontal movement of the print head carriage. Turn of the printer and move the carriage by hand to check if there is an area where it can only be moved too hard. If yes, clean the carriage shaft from dirt, etc.

80 maintenance infoprint 1125

You need to replace your Maintenance kit and reset the fuser count.

This counter is reset by the servicer after a “80 Scheduled
Maintenance” message displays (300K copies) and a maintenance
kit is installed.
To view the Maintenance Page Count:
1. Select Maintenance Count Value from the Diagnostic menu.
2. Press Return to go to the previous menu.
To reset the Maintenance Page Count to zero:
Select Reset Maintenance Count. Pressing Select resets the
maintenance page counter to zero. Reset Maintenance Count
Saved displays momentarily. When the reset operation is complete,
the menu returns to the Printer Setup Reset Maintenance Count
screen.

To enter the Diagnostic Mode:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold the Go and Return buttons.
3. Turn the printer on.
4. Release the buttons when "Performing Self Test" displays on
the operator panel.
The tests display on the operator panel in the order shown:
• Print Registration
• Print Tests
• Hardware Tests
• Duplex Tests (If installed)
• Input Tray Tests
• Output Bin Tests
• Base Sensor Test
• Printer Setup
• Error Log
• EP Factory Defaults

DISPLAY READS: 80 SERVICE (01E4)

An 80 service error is an MIO error. That is one of the accessories that is in the option slot in the rear of the machine.
  1. Turn of the machine.
  2. Unscrew and remove the Option card.
  3. Slide the card back in.
  4. Power the machine back up.

If the card is an option that ou do not use (such as a network card) You can just leave it out if you wish.
Please let me know if this helps.

No booting

The problem is Operating systems are co-dependent on hardware.
If the motherboards, processors, ram, video adapters, etc don't match you would not be able to swap hard drives and expect to boot.

You could try pressing F8 on boot and try to access safemode.

If it does boot into safemode immediately it will want to reactivate windows.(because of all the hardware changes.

If it still can't boot, you may want to put the 80 gig in as slave to the 40gig and ghost the 40 gg hard drive over to the 80.

If you don't want to lose your data on the 80 gig then reboot with an xppro cd and reinstall windows in the same partition overlaying the installation on top of existing windows directory.

the new windows will have to be activated but all data will still be there.
