How can i hot wire my dryer so it will get hot

I would not recommend "hot wiring" your heating element, you could cause a fire. There are safety components in the dryer that will keep the element from coming on or getting too hot. First thing I would check is to make sure that your exhaust line is clear, one of the first killers to proper heating is lack of air flow. If the exhaust line is clear than I would look at the thermostats for your dryer. Depending on the model there could be anywhere from two to four different thermostats and frequently there is also a thermal link that if it goes bad the heat will not come on. Hope this helps and please do not try to hot wire your heating element!

Dryer not getting hot

Try cleaning out the lint trap really well and make sure there is clear airflow in the dryer vent hose (usually long silver tube coming out the back of the dryer). Sometimes lint can build up over time in the hose and impede airflow which causes the dryer to still heat up a bit, but it won't get hot. Without proper airflow, it will not get hot enough to dry clothes efficiently.

What is the small hose on the back between the washer and dryer for

The hose off your washer will be two fill hoses "Hot" and "Cold" water and a Drain hose. the other things coming off a dryer will be gas line if gas dryer or a vent line for hot air to go outside. If you have a electric dryer you will have a large heavey cord coming off dryer going into over sized plug.

GE Profile dpsr473ewoww timer doesn't work and heat level is low

We should address the heat problem first. If your dryer complaint is "heat seems low" or taking "too long to heat", this is commonly confused for other problems. When in fact, you may really have a "ventillation problem". Do you feel (with hand) alot of hot air pressure coming out the back of the dryer or house vent-line (for dryer)?

I would disconnect and clean the dryer exhaust vent/duct (at wall and machine). Then, while leaving the vent-line disconnected temporaily, test and run your dryer. You may see an signficant improvement.

Does it heat up better?
Do you feel alot of hot air and pressure coming out the back of the dryer?
When connected; do you feel alot of hot air pressure coming out of your house dryer vent?

Dryer too hot

You will want to make sure the lint screen and vent are free and clear.
If the dryer is blowing out the vent outside the house as it should, then you have a thermostat problem.
If the operating thermostat does not open properly then the element will cycle by the hi-limit thermostat which will cause the dryer to heat more than normal.

Clothes Hot but damp, water out of vent

Is this a combo washer/dryer in 1 unit? water shoud not come out if it is just a dryer. Your air coming out of the back vent hose should be hot. If your clothes comes out of your WASHER damp (more than normal) then your washer is not spin drying good enough. (worn belt, clogged drainage system).
