You may have one of the following issues:

1) Programming of special features is inhibiting communications. Reprogram the radio(s) back to a basic mode with the special features, code and Qt filter (if any) turned off (zero). Then check to see if communications improves.

2) You could have a Transmit problem with the other radio. This could be caused by a bad or low battery or even a sticking PTT. Try trading the batteries with a known good radio and see if the problem changes or moves to the other radio.

3) Your radio could be failing. If you have changed the batteries to known good batteries, and tested the radio with more than one other radio, and you do not have a programming problem, you likely have a radio which is failing.

I was looking through some box's and i found this camera. i put in two regular AA batteries and it worked fine, now its not even turning on. I tried changing the batteries.

Always charge batteries before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period.
Always charge sets of batteries (2 or 4) together.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in electronic devices.
These batteries are only to be used in flash lights.

Does this camera operate on regular AA bateries. Put 2 brand new ones in and it will not power up. The manual says Kodak does not "support" Alkaline batteries....

Probably this old chat may help you to resolve your problem.

chrissy66 (12/10/2007)reply to this comment (by James DeRuvo - 12/12/2007)Sounds to me like your lens may have come out of alignment. Was it dropped recently? Since your camera is still under warranty, the best thing you can do is have Kodak should fix it. If your camera is out of warranty, or if Kodak refuses to repair it for free, the one thing you can try is to try resetting the camera.

Kodak is also of the opinion that lens errors also occur when you use batteries not recommended by Kodak.

I recently chatted with a kodak specialist about this issue and he recommends changing your batteries to NiMh rechargeable batteries. These are the batteries that the camera is designed to use and using other types - like alkalines, can often cause the lens error to occur. If that doesn't work, then the camera indeed does need repair.

Rechargeable Ni-MH Batteries (AA Size): These Ni-MH AA batteries last up to twice as long as alkaline batteries when used in your Digital Camera - and you can recharge them up to 1000 times in our rapid charger.

Oxy-Alkaline Digital Camera Battery (AA Size).

CRV3 Lithium Batteries: A non-rechargeable battery designed specifically for today's feature-rich cameras. This battery is the obvious choice for speed performance, and long life. It delivers faster flash recycle times and lasts up to 10% longer than our previous design!

Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack: Provides exceptional capacity with its 2.5 hour fast charge cycle time; can be recharged up to 1000 times in the EasyShare Camera Dock or EasyShare Rapid Charger,

My Kodak Easyshare Z1275 has short battery life. sometimes even newly charged 2600 MaH batteries cause problems. Powers up, lens extends, opens screen to set time and date then powers down. Sometimes i can...

wait, do you have Li Ion batteries or Ni MH?

I think that Kodak recommends Li Ion batteries which have a higher voltage on them.

I got some generic Li ion battery packs off of Amazon.com, with better specs. than Kodak, and they work fine for my Easyshare z1485 IS camera.

It cost me like $80 to get the charger and two battery packs that are Li Ion, but it's worth it.

My battery packs are rated at 2000 mAh 3.7 Volts each. It's the voltage that counts. You see, if you would split that in half, the voltage for each AA battery is 1.85V which is much higher than the 1.5V that regular Alkaline or Ni MH batteries are rated at.

I tried Alkalines, and Ni MH to no avail. But, the Li Ion batteries, did the trick for me.

Good luck on this 'repair' or battery upgrade.

My Canon S2 IS keeps saying 'change the battery' even if I put the new batteries in. Why...? Thanks.

there is a little coing battery located inside the battery compartment for the AA's. CR1220 you can get this at Radio Shack for about $5. If this battery is bad you will get the change batteries screen no matter how many fresh AA's you put in, Use a good quality alkaline battery such as the Energizer rechargable rated at 2700 mAh.

Charging batteries

the cobras are meant to work with alkaline cells. You bought nicads which are a lower voltage per cell (1.2 to 1.38). Alkalines are about 1.55-1.58

That is why your rechargeables only show a quarter charge, because their terminal voltage is lower and the radio thinks they are not fully-charged.

Please make sure the Battery is fully charged before performing this steps.

Also try changing the Batteries of the Camera. "AA" NiMH, "AA" Alkaline, "AA"

Camera will not power on

Are you making sure that you are using Alkaline batteries? Regular batteries won't work. Even rechargables will only work if you first put in alkalines and change the battery type in the menu, then put in the NiMH batteries (not NiCads).

Camera shuts off by itself

Are you certain the batteries are good and fully charged. They do wear out eventually. Hopefully it's not a jammed lens causing the problem. Does the display come up with an error number or maybe even "lens error" before switching off? If it does it will mean a trip to the camera doctor. How far are you actually getting with the switch on? Try switching to view picture instead of the shoot mode. This consumes less power and if you can see the last picture you took on the LCD or even a flash of it before closedown I'd put my money on bad batteries. Make sure the battery ends are clean and the camera battery contacts aren't corroded or dirty. It's sometimes amazing how trouble a little dirt can cause. BMW
