MY LEXMARK 4505 LEAVES 3-4 BLACK BLOTCHES ON THE EDGE OF EACH PAPER IT PRINTS, TRIED CLEANING THE ROLLERS TO NO AVAIL, ANY SUGESTIONS

ADJUST THE COLOR AND PRINT SPEED You may need to adjust the color and print speed. CHECK THE LEVEL OF INK IN THE PRINT CARTRIDGES 1 From the Finder desktop, double-click the Lexmark X5400 Series folder. 2 Double-click the Lexmark X5400 Series Utility icon. 3 From the Maintenance tab, check the ink levels of the cartridges. If an exclamation point (!) appears on a cartridge, the ink level is low. Install a new cartridge. Improving print quality These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following: CHECK PAPER • Use the appropriate paper for the document. If you are printing photos or other high-quality images, for best results use Lexmark Photo Paper or Lexmark PerfectFinish Photo Paper. Do not use Lexmark Premium Photo Paper. Your print cartridges are not compatible with this type of paper. • Use a paper that is a heavier weight or bright white. CHECK PRINT CARTRIDGES If the document still does not have the print quality you want, follow these steps: 1 Align the print cartridges. For more information, see "Aligning print cartridges" on page. If print quality has not improved, continue to step 2. 2 Clean the print cartridge nozzles. For more information, see "Cleaning the print cartridge nozzles" . If print quality has not improved, continue to step 3. 3 Remove and reinsert the print cartridges. For more information, see "Removing a used print cartridge" on and "Installing print cartridges" . If print quality has not improved, continue to step 4. 4 Wipe the print nozzles and contacts. For more information, see "Wiping the print cartridge nozzles and contacts". What is the replacement printer for HP Laser Jet

This document provides information about replacing the print cartridge for the HP LaserJet 1010 printer series, including life expectancy and replacement instructions. Print cartridge life expectancy The life of the print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that your print jobs require. When printing text on letter/A4-size paper at five percent coverage, the print cartridge lasts an average of 2,000 pages. This assumes that you set the print density to three and disable EconoMode. (These are the default settings.) See Ordering supplies for information on ordering replacement print cartridges. Changing the print cartridge Follow the below instructions to change the print cartridge:
  1. Open the print cartridge door, and remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information inside the print cartridge box. Figure 1: Removing old print cartridge c00028312.gif CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover it with a piece of paper.
  2. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging, and gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge. Figure 2: Gently shaking new print cartridge c00028313.gif
  3. Pull the tab until all the tape is removed from the print cartridge. Put the tab in the print cartridge box to return for recycling. Figure 3: Removing tape from print cartridge c00035442.gif
  4. Insert the print cartridge in the printer, making sure that the print cartridge is in position. Close the print cartridge door. Figure 4: Inserting new print cartridge c00028315.gif

Single page printing

OK, well when printing from the internet it quite often only prints the screen you are on, I presume, because you likes what you read, you wish to print it, well as you are on Page 3 the end of the document, thats what get printed. You actually, need to go to the File Menu, select, Print, and actually select, the type of print, there are options, Print ALL, Print Page, Print Selection, you need to set that, it sometimes remembers a setting and perhaps 3 was the last setting.. In any event don't just "Hit Print" you have to do as related, I am not sure if you can set up special "Print Now" parameters, but I expect you can, choose a "Default" setting.

2. Select Normal-size Printing (or Fit-to-Page Printing, Scaled Printing or Page Layout Printing) from the Page Layout list.
3. When printing a document that has small margins, click Print Area Setup... and set the print area.
When you perform duplex printing, the print area of the document becomes slightly narrower than usual and the document may not fit on one page.

sub.gifTo print without reducing the page:
Select Use normal-size printing.
sub.gifTo reduce the page slightly during printing:
Select Use reduced printing.
4. Specify Staple Side.

HP PSC 1300 All in one Printer

Replacing the print cartridgesgtabtop.gif
  1. Turn on the HP PSC and lower the print-carriage access door.
The print carriage will move into the access area. Figure 1: Opening the print-carriage access door
    c00034850.jpg
  2. After the carriage stops moving, push down on the top of the print cartridge to release it, and then pull it toward you out of the slot.
NOTE: The black cartridge is on the right side of the print carriage.
Figure 2: Removing the print cartridge
    c00034851.jpg
NOTE: It is normal to see ink buildup in the print cartridge slots.

  3. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging and gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab.
CAUTION: Do not touch the copper contacts or ink nozzles. Install the cartridge immediately upon removing the tape to prevent ink from drying in the nozzles.
Figure 3: Removing the plastic tape
    c00034852.jpg
  4. Push the new print cartridge into the appropriate slot at a slight angle, until it clicks into place.
CAUTION: Do not attempt to push the cartridge straight into the slot. It must slide in at a slight angle.
Figure 4: Inserting the print cartridge
    c00034853.jpg
  5. Close the print-carriage access door.

Using a photo print cartridgegtabtop.gif To use the photo print cartridge, remove the black print cartridge and insert the photo print cartridge in its place.
The photo print cartridge can be purchased separately and will optimize the quality of printed photos.
With the tri-color print cartridge and photo print cartridge installed, you have a six-ink system, which provides enhanced quality photos. For printing regular text documents, use the black print cartridge.
Use a print cartridge protector to keep either print cartridge secure when it is not being used. Figure 5: Storing the print cartridge
c00034854.jpg 1 - Inserting the print cartridge
2 - Removing the print cartridge

Aligning the print cartridgesgtabtop.gif After installing or replacing a print cartridge, the HP PSC will automatically print a cartridge alignment page.
  1. Place the alignment page face down on the left front corner of the glass with the top of the page facing the left side.
  2. Press Scan .
The HP PSC will align the print cartridges. During the alignment the button LED will blink until the alignment is complete.
