Question about Samsung LNT4669 TV

3 Answers

When I adjust my Samsung's settings like contrast brightness etc etc, they always just return to whatever the standard was before I adjust them. and its not just turning the tv on or off, if I switch inputs it will do the same thing. this goes for everything adjustable including the blue light on the front of the tv. if i set it to off, it will turn off. the next time i turn on the tv however, it is back on and will stay on after power is turned off.

    and what does this mean?

  • gre666 Sep 15, 2010

I recently purchased the Samsung LN-T4669F LCD 1080p 46" 120Hz. That being said, most of my settings will not stay where I set them. I thought at first that it was clearing when I turned the TV off, but I realized last night that it switches back to "Dynamic" (which is with contrast set at 100...) in the picture and changes several other settings in the set up screen. For instance, the "Light Effect" setting turns the LED on or off or on only during stand-by, etc. It always switches back to always on.

I did notice that when I hit the info button on the remote it reads that the picture mode is in "Shop Mode". Changed this and it still seems to not be working.

One thing I have to ask, is your Tv remaining connected to a power source all the time?? If you let it get unplugged or if there are times it is loosing power it will reset the saved features that are stored after you set them.

That is the first place to check. Let me know and I will get back to you.

Its good to start with the simple things and workfrom there.

If the set is still under warranty take it back inexchange for another one! Other wise you might need boards resolder first then see if TV still has that problem.

I cant put the right colors to my led toshiba tv,,,, the colors looks so bright. Please help????????

The tv is possibly set on the wrong standard.

Try accessing the menu and selecting a different standard; PAL, PAL 1, 2 or 3, RGB or whatever is used in your geographical area.

Once the right standard for your area is employed the controls for brightness, colour intensity and contrast should respond to adjustment and produce the picture quality you require.

I hope this helps.

Best quality picture

This is likely a simple settings issue.

A lot of people don't realize that backlight settings can affect the picture.

Go to the menu (press menu on your remote)

The menu will show picture options. Just toy with different settings until you find what you want. It may be on a preset setting that doesn't work. If you are in a bright room, you will need to increase brightness and contrast and perhaps backlight.

Usually an unclear picture is due to the contrast, backlight, and brightness settings being too low. You can also increase sharpness.

I suggest a contrast setting of 70, a brightness setting of 60-80, and a backlight setting of above 80.

Good luck.,

HOW TO SET BRIGHTNESS OF THE SCREEN?

Hi,

Dear User...

You can adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor to improve the readability of text and to make digital pictures appear more like they'll look when printed.

To improve the results when adjusting the brightness and contrast settings for your display, use Display Color Calibration. (Display Color Calibration helps you adjust these color settings and others.) For more information about calibrating your display color in Windows, see Calibrate your display.

The way you adjust brightness and contrast varies and depends on your specific display.

Brightness and contrast buttons on the front of the monitor. Some monitors have brightness and contrast controls on the front and use the standard symbols shown in the following image.

On-screen menu. You can change the brightness and contrast settings for some displays by using an on-screen menu, and then setting the brightness and contrast in the resulting menu. Many times, you can view the on-screen menu by pressing a button-possibly labeled Menu-on the front of the monitor.

Thanks....

Want to know how to adjust contrast

Very old set--always adjust so contrast not too high--it should always be lower than brightness---say brightness at 75% and contrast lower--if contrast set too high smearing will occur and picture quality will be affected.
