Switch OFF the main power and try. Give a bang by hand on the latch side. It might open. Do not use hammer etc.

If nothing works you have to force open carefully.

Door lock on washing machine wont disengage

you could make a bypass switch, which interrupts the power to the door lock I would suggest a push button (press to open), so that it doesn't interrupt normal function(you can't accidentally leave it off), just attach the lead wire that would normally go to the lock mechanism to the button, then attach the return lead from the switch to the original circuit on the locking mechanism. then when you want to open the door (if it sticks again) you just press the button to break the circuit

What could be causing the door latch to release late in the wash cycle of my Kenmore Ultra dishwasher?

The door spring tension might be causing the door latch to become disengaged. Check the level of the dishwasher and also adjust door spring tension. Will need model number to provide more details.

My magtag 5000 series washer is flashing error code F21, It was in the middle of a wash cycle and now the door is locked and it won't open. How do I at least get the door open. I have unplugged the

Unplug the washer. Then plug it back in and press the button that turns it off. This should unlock the door. Same thing happened on mine and there was a kink in the drain hose. Once I unkinked the hose, unplugged it, plugged it back in, turned it off, then I was able to run a drain & spin cycle to get the water out of the load that was in the washer. I then ran a full wash cycle (they'd gotten stuck in the first drain & spin cycle of a wash) and everything seems to be fine now.

Can't open door

Make sure the power is on, make sure the machine has finished its cycle, move the dial around to the final cycle and let finish, the door lock should disengage after the cycle is finished, if this doesn't work, make sure all dials are in off position and switch of at the wall and then switch on again. still on luck then there may be a small access hole (usually only big enough for a pen) to disengage the door lock.

Check and ensure that the tubes and passages to the water level pressure sensor are not blocked by caked detergent, lint , etc.
( this may have caused the water overflow in the first place)
clean up the internal parts that are wetted by the overflow.

clean the door lock mechanism. ( this normally works on a temperature delay mechanism, if cleaning does not work, replace)

all the above done with the power unplugged and water inlets unplugged , of course
