Re: memory stick won't go in
The only way that I know of is to dismantle the PSP or send it in for repair. Taking the PSP apart is a very long process and although it is reasonably easy, the screws can easily be lost and it is easy to forget where everything goes when putting it back together. I would reccomend putting a small screwdriver in the card slot to find out if there is something stuck in it but you cannot tell what you are doing and the contacts for the memory stick are quite fragile and you could easily damage them.
If you are prepared to take the PSP apart then post a comment and I can guide you throught the process.

Once you find out where the memory stick is on your son's system, I would take it out and reinsert it several times. This has happened to me before and I had to remove/reinsert a few times for it to "find the right position". As a last resort, I would format the memory card and see if that helps. The steps to format on on that link as well. Worst case scenario is the memory stick has gone bad, but you can pick up a replacement for under $10.00 US. Hope this helps.
take the psp 3006 to games store and tell them to put it back in cfw then you can play games by putting them in memory stick and i donot you can do the downgrading yourself because it is a little complex not like the 2000 model and 1000 model where you should just have an pandora battery and magic memory stick and you can do it in your own home but do it in your own risk, its not like that for 3000 model sony have completely changed the concept
Hi, it is very possible that your psp is not recognizing your memory stick(had this happen a few times)just simply try plugging it back in. p.s if this does not work please go to my profile and email me.
its because the psp version where change that's why the psp stops working on games only psp version's with m33 can play download games and other might depend on your umd games...so i suggest that you downgrade your psp to the original version of the psp that you have so your son can play the games that he want. hope it helped.. send me a message for more concerns...ty
You probably need a new memory stick module inside the PSP. I have seen this many times in my store and we replaced the board and it worked fine. Contact your local game stores to see if they do console repairs. See if there is a Play-N-Trade within your area. I work at one and we do repairs. I'm not sure if Gamestop or Gamecrazy do repairs.
the memory stick is very small it is a small piece that will flip open and will be able to push in it is very thin you will know when you find the slot then just try to buy a memory stick duo of ebay 1gig is $7-10
well, to run games on a memory stick you must have a certain psp hooked up to where you can play games on your memory stick, buying a psp from the store won't let you play games from the memory stick, you must buy a psp game,, im sorry
