The pilot lite will light but the main burners wont The high temp light came on but the grease wasn't over temp. I discounted high temp senisor light is still on what do I do now

Most likely the high limit is defective. This can shut down both the pilot and main burners. You can try jumping the high temp sensor leads to see if this solves the problem, assuming it is a standard Robertshaw high limit. Do this only to test, however. Bypassing the high limit can be very dangerous if the thermostat is defective or the oil level is below the sensor bulb. If your high limit has more than two wires, you may need a wiring diagram to determine which leads to jump.

On my whirlpool dryer I tested everything on back

If you're getting 240 volts at the terminals, then the parts in between the heat element and those terminals are the timer, thermostat and the high temp safety switch. Every dryer has a pouch with the wiring diagram in it. Use it to see the electrical path and the components to test.

Whirlpool RF385PXEN COMPLETELY DEAD, NOTHING WORKS,checked the obvious like breaker etc..what is next step. I`m skilled with a VOM Meter, thx

Hello,
Most ranges from that brand have a high limit thermostat behind the back panel, or sometimes under the burners,it should be closed if good. typically the wiring diagram is either inside of control panel or hidden under the storage drawer.if it has the high limit (also called thermal fuse) the diagram will show you the color wires to it.

Changed high temp thermostats, maybe hooked wires back up wrong?

you should have a wiring schematic diagram somewhere on the machine otherwise the limit switches are normally wired in series w/element

Replaced high temp sensor on whirlpool front loader

The high limit thermostat should have been replaced also.
If there are no obstructions that will fix your problem.

Dryer hets to hot

I would check the temp at your outside vent while the dryer is running temp should anywhere from 180 to 225 at the high end and should cycle down from there so u should get like 225 then will drop down to 90's then come back up to the high temp and check on all temp settings. if it does not your operating thermostat may be bad go back over the instructions that came with your thermostat kit to double check your wiring the tech sheet should be in the control panel with the wiring diagram.
