yes, I get the same on TT 720. I contacted TT and they suggested resetting but that's not fixed it. Also tried going back to 7.xx software, but still no fix.

I've got the same problem on tt920. spoke to support and checked with their web pages.

They're aware of the problem and will report when it's resolved. That was over two months ago. Still waiting.

Was told to try switching voice to non-computer voice, but it defeats the object because non-computer voice can't say all road names/instructions. Also told that it could be to lack of memory, which has been taken up by the extra software updates/changes on TT.

How do i set navigation path

U don't. The GPS tells you how to go. If you deviate from the path the unit will give you new directions. U can indicate preferences to GPS such as no toll roads, shortest route, fastest route, etc, but the computer has the final say.

I am having a problem reseting my TomTom XXL to travel on interstates and not the back roads. can you help?

there are a couple of settings in preferences. One is "Fastest Route" which is highways the other is "shortest Route" which can be back streets. Change the default to either "Fastest" or, preferably, there is an option to get it to ask you each time

Set the fastest route. The shortest route will take you off motorways and up narrower roads. Garmin satnavs know the difference between fastest and shortest.

Navi g tells you to turn when you're right on the corner-too late

In the actual menu of your Nuvi there are different settings for getting to your destination via either
a) fastest route
b) shortest distance

Unfortunately quite often when the Nuvi is set to fastest route it will do all it can to get you onto the motorway or a main road as this is the way the software is set up. When in fastest route mode it cannot figure out that to go on the motorway in this instance is not the most convenient route for you to take at all.

If you change to shortest distance mode (its under the navigation menu I think) you will find it will take you by the route to your Nannas you would normally expect to go.

Sometimes this function is hard to work out as to which is the appropriate setting for a particular journey - you will need to experiment a bit with it but the general rule is if it is in fastest route mode it will look for motorways and main roads and ignore the convenient little back roads that we all know in our own locality.

You may find as general rule that if you plan a journey to somewhere thats within your local area its better to select shortest distance mode.

Fastest route may work better for longer journeys.

Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer. Many Thanks.

Garmin Nuvi 350T

You might be choosing Shortest Route and that's exactly what it will do - find the shortest route, no matter what the quality of the roads. You should try choosing Fastest Route.

I am an inter-state truck driver, with that being said,is there any way of getting truck routes on my tomtom?

what model is it the 700 does not have truck routes, how ever if you keep it set to fastest route that should keep you from getting stuck in a tight spot.

The tom tom always wants me to go across the benjamin Franklin Bridge. I would rather use the Walt Whitman Bridge how do I get it to work this way

If you have it using the fastest route try getting it to use the shortest route or vice versa. Failing that plan your journey using waypoints and you can instruct it which way to go and what route to take using this method. Hope this helps.

Poor directions

Go to setting (the wrench icon) press it, then look for Navigation, then check Route Preference to see if it is set for either fastest time or shortest distance. If you want shortest distance, the upgrade most likely reset it to Fastest Time (default).
