Question about Dell Dimension 2350 PC Desktop

I have a Dell Dimension 2350 that will display the Dell start up screen but then the the screen goes black. I have solid green power lights on the tower and monitor and the diagnostic lights are all on and green. I swapped out monitors and the same problem exists. It must be something internal. Any thoughts?

Yes, perhaps there's a problem with the graphics.

If you are using Integrated Graphics, try using a graphics card.
If you are using a graphics card, replace it with another one.

If I may;

1) GPU:
Graphics Processing Unit.

Essentially the graphics 'engine'.

If the GPU is soldered directly to the motherboard, this is Integrated Graphics.
Another name for Integrated Graphics is Onboard graphics.
On the motherBoard.

If the GPU is mounted on a removable Printed Circuit Board, (PCB), it is a graphics card.

(Also known as Video Card, Graphics Adapter Card, and Video Adapter Card)

Although you have not indicated hearing any BIOS Beep Codes, I would like you to humor me.

Remove all ram memory module/s, (Computer unplugged from power, Anti-Static Precautions observed), and clean the gold plated contact pins with a pencil eraser.

Remove the eraser dust with air, (Compressed air for computers, or air pressure from your mouth may be sufficient), then reinstall the ram memory module/s. ('Sticks')

I have a Dell Dimension E521. When I cut the power on everything comes on including the monitor, but the monitor will stay black. It does say something about power save hit any button but the screen


A solid green light means the computer is operating normally.

A solid yellow light indicates the power supply is operating normally but the computer is not processing data.

This could mean there is a problem with the CPu or another component on the motherboard.


((A blinking yellow light indicates the power supply is receiving power from the wall, but not functioning properly.

No post screen, cant access cmos settings. but windows starts as usual just a blank screen til then?


Hi,
Its possible that your cmos settings were changed prior to this problem so as not to display cmos settings options at boot up. Have you tried resetting your cmos settings to fix the problem? You can do this by a jumper which is usually found on the mother board named "clr cmos" (clear cmos).

SOLID AMBER LIGHT ON DIMENSION 3000


One of two things:

Either the power supply is marginal

or

the motherboard is bad.

Probably the motherboard, if not the power supply. You're gonna need to visit a local repair shop to find out for sure.

Dell Dimension 5100 Won't start up


Hi

First disconnecting the power cord and re-seat all connections (Keyboard, Mouse espercially). Connect up the power cord and try powering the PC.

To help you troubleshoot a problem, Dell Dimension 5100 has four diagnostic lights labeled "1," "2," "3," and "4" on the front panel. When the computer starts normally, the lights flash. After the computer starts, all four lights display solid green. If the computer malfunctions, the color and sequence of the lights identify the problem.

If the computer failed to start up check the diagnostic lights color and sequence and Check the link below for more info (Assuming you have another system that can access internet)
