If your dryer is STILL heating, but your dryer is showing signs of heavy condensation or longer dry times, you may want to check the dryer interior cabinet and/or the entire run of the exhaust ducting from where it exits your dryer to the point where it leaves your home to ensure you have no kinks, clogs, or excessive bends. As the dryer exhausts, moisture from your clothing is circulated with the warm air. If you have any restrictions in the exhaust system, the moisture will collect inside the ducting and drum. The following link explains many of the common problems that can cause poor drying efficiency and longer dry times:

Before assuming you have a problem with the appliance, check your installation to ensure you are providing the dryer with proper exhaust and air flow. This is the NUMBER ONE cause of poor drying efficiency. A dryer in a clogged state, or having improper air flow, will not dry efficiently and will cause the heating circuits to overheat. Eventually, this can lead to component failures and is the source of many fire hazards.
If you do determine you have an internal component problem, the next link can give you some helpful advice on how to troubleshoot a dryer with a no heat problem: http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574266-thorough_dryer_advice http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576548-dryer_runs_but_does_not_heat If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Are you mechanically inclined? You may have several problems. 1st, heating element is most likely burnt out. Then I would check ball and socket assembly that back of drum fits into. Also check felt in front of machine that drum rides on. May need competent service person on this.

NOT DRYER CLOTHS LIKE IT USE TO TAKING MUCH LONGER

Check for clogs in the vent air line. If dryer lint or some obstruction is slowing the air flow it will take longer to dry clothes. Also the dryer may not be getting hot enough. Check to see if the clothes feel hot or warm when you reach inside. If it feels hot enough it is likely an issue with air flow. heat and air flow are required to dry clothes.

Dryer feels hot but takes longer to dry cloths

Clean the entire venting system out. The moister sensor detects any lint build up and puts the heat in the check mode which will produse very little heat until its cleaned out

Slow to dry

Hi!!

Have you cleaned the filter and the exhaust duct??

Lint plugs therm up, the heat sensor shuts off heating element thinking it is hot enough. Result: Clothes not getting dry.

Unplug duct and clean it, also clean the exahust passage of dryer. (where duct hooks to dryer)

Click below if this was helpful, Good luck.

Does it shut down completely? If it does, and the timer ceases turning, your problem may be a blocked vent pipe or Lint buildup.Your high limit switch is designed to kill power to your heater coils and sometimes the motor in case of overheat.

Dryer gets hot but wont dry clothes

Do you know if the dryer vent is free of obstructions?Check outside where the dryer vents outside ,and see if the air is weak or flowing freely. If it is not clogged the air should be pretty strong from the vent outside. If it has blockage it will definitly take longer to dry your clothes.
