Question about Frigidaire 30 in. Electric Gallery Series Self-Cleaning Double Wall Oven

2 Answers

Frigidaire es340 Electric Range - Self-Cleaning Oven w/Ceramic cooktop - approximately 4 to 5 yrs old - none of the oven controls are working EXCEPT the clock - I can set the clock, and it works, BUT the "Bake" button has stopped functioning... it is somewhat sporadic - it's not working right now... tomorrow it 'might' work when I press it, and it 'might' not. I unplugged the unit from the wall, and let it sit for fifteen minutes, plugged it back in, reset the clock, and nothing... the bake function is not working - the light doesn't come on - no beep - no nothing..... the broil function is the same way - no other buttons are functioning other than the clock....can you please help me out?

All of the info I received was good - BUT, it basically tells me I need a repairman to come fix it. I was hoping for some kind of specific reply instead of a canned answer that covers everything imaginable. While the info sent is good info - it's not quite what I was expecting for my money. For the record, I managed to fix the problem on my own - I'm reasonably sure it's a temporary solution, but it at least worked for now, and now is when I need the oven to work... I have food prepared to go into the oven, but the oven didn't work, so that put me in a bad situation.... as far as what I did - I took the back panel off, I checked the wiring diagram - located the heating element connections, and noticed one was rusted - I squirted some gun cleaning solvent on it - scrubbed it with a copper brush - got rid of the rust build up that was preventing the connection - plugged it in, set the clock - hit the Bake button, and it went BEEP - I am now up and running....your information at least clued me in as to the heating element, and the very short lifespan they have - so, your info did help a little - next time someone has this problem - maybe you could tell them to check the connections to the heating element for rust, and if they find some, then use some type of cleaning solvent and a brush to clean the connector, and try that.... I would suspect that quite a few people who contact you are in the same shoes I was in.... sitting there with a nice meal prepared - waiting for the oven to be fixed.....

You probably have a loose contact from the control to one of the elements. You need to open the oven from the back and have a good visual check. Sometimes the power cables overheated and since they are from copper they become loose and you have an open curcuit.
Their is also the posibilty the element itself to be burn and open curcuit but you need a tester for checking it and since your over is not so old just try the first option vey well first.

Everything on my range CFEF372EC2 works except the oven

Hello Roy Ellis - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, I personally recommend consulting a professional to move forward accurately. The range could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty element(s) which will need further diagnosising.

Kenmore electric range with ceramic cooktop, model # 79046593500. None of the elements or the oven will heat up. The controls work, the red indicator light goes on, but no heat.

It sounds like your Frigidaire made kenmore may have a power supply issue, the power block that is located at the rear of the oven may be at fault. part number 5303935061. However the digital clock can also cause this problem, and should be diagnosed by a technician.
