I have newly installed my system with Window XP. after few days it wants to activate windows. I don't know however it may done. I want product key No. Please help me.

The product key is 5 x 5 letter/figure goups. Normally, its on a sticker on the back of the CD case or on the bottom of a laptop or stuck to the side of a PC tower.

If you bought your copy of XP, the key should have been provided with it. If its a pirate copy, then I'm afraid you've lost out.

To activate windows, just click on "yes" and type in the key.

You could call Microsoft on one of their free helplines. Or you could download and use Ubuntu for free.

Help me..whats going on with windows xp home edition

When installing a new operating system, all file saved will be deleted. Since you've lost all data, you might as well format the entire drive, and then reinstall the vista inspirat thing. Then, download an Avast! anti virus form avast.com. Download the home version, which is free and scan the computer for any viruses. Delete every last one of the suckers.

Activate xphome

If I'm reading this correctly, this copy of Windows was installed on your old laptop (which is now not working) and you decided to get a new one and are trying to load the same copy of Windows onto your new laptop.

An OEM version of Microsoft Windows can only be installed on one computer. Once you installed that copy of XP onto one computer, the license was permanently tied to that computer and cannot be transferred. This is the difference between OEM and retail versions of Windows. Retail versions can be transferred from computer to computer (as long as only one computer has the software installed at a time); OEM versions cannot be transferred from computer to computer. Even if you were to get through over the phone, Microsoft will not activate your system.

If you still want to pursue it, these are the phone numbers for the Phillipines, according to the records I have:
+653248098 toll number
0080024681668 free number
Chances are you have tried them already, but I posted them in case they're different from the ones you have. You can always choose a different country and dial their phone number. Sure, it'll be a long distance call, but you'll still be able to get through.

Windows xp home edition

Activation is a form of copy protection, in which each copy of XP must be turned on by registering it with Microsoft. The copy of Windows XP is then uniquely associated with a particular computer, thus preventing pirating of the operating system by using the same disk to upgrade multiple machines.

Upon re-installation, the registration files were wiped too.
You can call microsoft anytime to reactivate your Windows XP.
