Question about Sony KP-61HS10 61" Rear Projection Television
Hi! I have a sony model no: KP-61HS10 61 in. t.v. When i turn on t.v. it displays a black screen and no sound. The timer/standby light just costantly flashes. I found a blown fuse (6.3A @ 125V) in power supply circuit & went to radio shack and purchesd/replaced it with a 6.3A @ 250V fuse. (that was the closest value i could find). I turned on tv and tv came on for about three seconds then i heard a POP! Checked fuses and are not blown. Troublshot and found nothing obvious. With t.v plugged back in, goes back to a blinking timer/standby light. Any solutions????? Could i have blown something else with a higher voltage rating on the fuse??? Please need help...... ran out of suggestions. Thanks!
Usually when the fuse blows its due to a component being shorted and if you increase the rating of the fuse you can cause other components in the circuit to blow. The pop you hear was most like a capacitor on the D board. The D board is no longer available from sony as its listed as discontinued. You will most likely have to have a qualified sony service tech trouble shoot the circuits on the D board to locate the short as it will be outside the scope of a do it yourself type of repair
