It will move forward and in reverse, and will drop the slide but only for a split second... so you really can't see the picture.

It sounds like you are describing a "continuous cycle" problem. Depending on which specific model you have, chances are it can be repaired by a qualified service dealer. Good luck.

2002 Jaguar XType Sun-roof one-touch operations reset

I had this issue and found the solution around, worth sharing and it takes 30 seconds:

Press the sunroof switch forward to move the sliding roof panel into the tilted position.

Release the sunroof switch.

Press and hold the sunroof switch forward until the sliding roof panel moves slightly. This may take 30 seconds or more.

Release the sunroof switch.

Immediately press and hold the sunroof switch in the forward position. The sliding roof panel will move down and rearward to the open position, and then forward into the closed position. Do not release the sunroof switch until the sliding roof panel has stopped completely.

Your sunroof panel should now be aligned.

Lift gate tray

No. The slide tray should rotate when the forward or reverse buttons are pushed. Slides are not required for correct actuation of the tray. Before attempting any adjustment, try a few different trays (it may be a tray issue!). A 140-slide tray will be much tougher to get correct movement from than with a 80-slide tray on an older slide projector.... The 140 tray pushes the interface specification between a tray & a projector to the max.

On my kadak 4400 I placed a slide tray with 35mm slides in. After turning the power on I attempted to advance the first slide. Nothing happened with the slide. I turned it off reset the tray and tried. ...

Try turning your projector on without a slide tray. Cycle it 2 or 3 cycles in reverse. Place the tray back on the projector and cycle forward. By cycling it a few times in reverse, it re-sets the cycling mechanism.

My slide projector is a Kodak 760H. The forward and reverse functions do not work. The 140 slide tray loads fine and the picture loads and projects. But pushing the forward or reverse buttons does...

First of all, if you have the remote that came with the projector, plug it in & try that. I suspect that it will not work, but it is worth a try. If it does work, you are a lucky person!
The problem you are experiencing is very common for a projector of that age. The cycle solenoid "link" is broken - or worse - the solenoid has an "open" circuit. This is a pretty complicated replacement and adjustment of the solenoid position that follows. You can purchase the parts required from www.micro-tools.com They also have instructions on their website. If you feel this repair is beyond what you want to get into, contact an authorized repair dealer for assistance. Good Luck !!

I bought a used Elmo TRV-35H 35mm projector. The camera works fine, but the tray only moves in reverse when I press the forward or reverse button. And after moving through a few slides it then moves...

Remember, mains voltages exist within the projector and thus the unit MUST be disconnected from the supply line whilst carrying out any servicing.

The reported fault sounds like sluggish operation of the advance/reverse mechanism. Lubricants used in the past tend to age and dry out so that the mechanism doesn't function correctly. IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT TO DO SO, remove the top of the unit and locate the slide mechanism. Carefully clean with cotton buds dipped in pure electronic cleaner and then re lubricate, using an oil dripper with the finest industrial sewing machine oil - emphasis is on a 'drip' of oil on the moving pivot points. Put the top back on and try again.

Problems with remote controllers are suually associated with tarnished contacts either in the hand unit or the projector. Once again, the contacts can be carefully cleaned and all should be well once more.

If you are using Kodak Carousel magazines, make sure you are using the correct magazine for your slides - cardboard or glass mounts. Don't mix slides in a magazine, as this can also cause problems.

Kodak Carousel 760H wont advance or reverse

You have jammed the slide change mechanism. Turn the projector off. Remove the tray using the emergency release slot in the center hub of the projector. Turn the projector on and cycle it a few times in reverse, then in forward. That usually clears a mechanism jam.

Bosch psb 600 drill will not reverse

The red button sits on a lever that changes the polarity of the switch output. If this lever feels loose and you can't feel it engaging anything then you need to split the housing and make sure it is seated properly. If it is, and the lever on the switch is moving fine aswell then you should check all the wires coming out of the switch, and if they are all connected properly you will prob need a new switch.
